A friend just sent me an e-mail announcing this. I found this on MovieTmes.com:

Beyond The Secret

"Fathom and Anthem Pictures present "Beyond the Secret," a one-night event in select movie theatres nationwide on Thursday, Jan. 15. Hosted by Larry King, this Fathom exclusive kicks off the long awaited follow-up to the acclaimed film "The Secret," which sold over seven million DVDs and books. Join an exclusive panel of motivational experts including Bob Proctor, Marcia Weider, Christian Simpson, Les Brown and more as they discuss life "Beyond the Secret." These motivational experts will demonstrate how to apply the concepts from "The Secret" in real, tangible ways--including how to handle today’s turbulent economy and specific ways to improve your own life despite our nation’s financial setbacks. The discussion will then be opened to the live audience for an interactive panel discussion covering topics from wealth to faith and everything in between. This magical evening will include awe-inspiring vignettes from the "Beyond the Secret" DVD and comes just in time for charting a new course for success in 2009 and beyond. Renew your commitment to making "the law of attraction" work for you."

:( Here we go again.

Oprah has been on the news recently because she gained back the weight she lost and is weighing in at over 200 pounds.

If The Secret is so great and the "Law of Attraction" really works I can only guess that Secret devotee Oprah asked the universe for 1,500 cupcakes instead of just visualizing herself thin.

Maybe she accidentally looked at some fat people. The Secret says that looking at fat people makes you fat. But then again, I like the 1,500 cupcakes theory.

Sweet cowboy jesus, how much more are they going to milk out of this piece of drek? And are the millions of people who saw the DVD and bought the book driving around in BMWs, smiling their big perfect teeth smiles, and getting laid twice a day, just like they asked for?? Did any of the principles applied form the book make even a twat of a difference in anyone's life? Are there still starving children (perhaps the selfish buggers didn't think hard enough about that one), or unhappy people, or exhorbitant credit card fees? Has everyone sold their brains to gypsys?? I'm moving to Mars.

I've looked at a bunch of rich people and it hasn't made me rich yet either. I think I'll just have 1500 cupcakes to make myself feel better.

I have often said that when we start to quantify gullibility, the standard unit should be Kings. E.g. "If I were you I'd stay away from that message board unless you are willing to wade though several kilokings of nonsense."

Forget Larry King. If you are looking for who really enabled that plague called "The Secret" , look at a lady called Ophrah. She has been relenteless in her promotion of this garbage.

Yes but Oprah does have at least a touch of skepticism: she no longer has after-death communicators on her show. There is nothing that Larry King would ever doubt.
