Come on skeptics, let's put this baby to bed!

I give up.
It's definitely a UFO with 8 appendages. There's simply no other explanation for it.

Destroyed "hours" after the ufo was seen? How does that link the ufo to the destruction?
Also from the link:
"A more down-to-earth theory is that the turbine was damaged due to the build up of ice on the blades."
The link contains its own debunking.

Can you imagine travelling x light years and nearly getting taken down by a wind-turbine? Or maybe they thought the turbines were acting threateningly and taught one a lesson? On a more serious note; I imagine the missing prop has been taken for analysis, wouldn't you think? That should be easy enough to keep tabs on. There can be no excuse for that going missing between evidence rooms.

Aliens are morons.

They are aliens from the planet "La Mancha."

Looks like the blade that came off hit the blade that's bent as it fell.

An incarnation of the glorious flying spaghetti monster?
It's too obvious...

How clever they are. This will distract everyone from realizing that the wind turbines are the aliens.

How embarassing for them.
Imagine... we send starships across the galaxy to unknown solar systems. We receive the transmissions back as this heroic crew report back - they have found a planet with intelligent life!
They explore further.
There is civilisation!
There are societies!
Structures and gatherings of constructions!
They go in closer. What will they learn of another species that we share the universe with?
The world listens breathlessly as... they crash into an alien windmill and die.

Obviously the aliens are trying to teach us something...stop the development of "clean" energy.
To appease the Corn Gods (ie. aliens) I urge EVERYONE to partake in having a corn dog soonest...the fate of the world is yours.

Claims that his noodly appendages were just fireworks (http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/organgrinder/2009/jan/08/windpower-thesun). Nonsense - all hail the FSM.

Here is an video of a wind turbine self destructing due to high winds, I don't believe it was windy in the UK recently though.

Now even the aliens are in big oil's pocket. Sell outs. And here I thought they liked hippie groups like the Raliens and Scientologists.

Maybe this alien pilot was reading L.Ron Hubbard's BattleField Earth.
Though I am sure this pilot would have fell asleep at the wheel reading
Dianetics.

The Danish wind turbine (it's a wind mill) failed not just because of a storm, but because the brakes failed. That, together with the storm, made it fail.
There were other wind mills nearby, which were stopped in time, and were not damaged at all.

Here's a link to a Guardian article poking fun at the Sun, and at the same time explaining away the purported light show that accompanied the windmill's destruction.

The best explanation I've heard yet, is that a large piece of ice has fell off a plane, hit the turbine and melted into the ground. Seeing as the MOD are convinced there is no threat to national security, there should be no problem in interested parties being kept abreast of the blade analysis process. Any ideas how long it will take experts to determine the cause?

Wind turbines fail all the time. http://www.responsiblewind.org/docs/wind_turbine_accidents_in_pictures.pdf More likely to be a defect caused during the manufacturing process than something hitting it. It has been very cold recently, could ice have built up on the blades causing one of them to fail?
