Sorry if it's been done, remove if needed and/or direct me to the thread. I looked...

Anyone else think this is a terrible mix? I was watching the H channel and saw a show called (paraphrasing) Ten ways the Earth will die. Tyson, and Hawking, were interviewed for segments of the program, which was mildly neat and interesting.

But the History channel mixes science with so much woo, it seems to lend credence to a lot of garbage.

Discuss? And again, if it's here don't be rude, just point me in the right direction.

Haven't seen it,don't feel the need. They fill their time with so much woo garbage. Especially paranoic end of the world speculative crap lately. How did they get actual reputable scientists to contribute?

That's what I don't know. The program was followed immediately by something I had to ditch, like haunted mystery psychic chupacabra hunter houses.

I appear in a couple of history channel documentaries. Clearly unspeakable woo is the norm! :)

Which ones?

Any on UFO's or Nostradamus often give far more credibility to the subjects than is warranted. Bible code stuff too.

I'm not saying that they shouldn't have shows like this at all. I am saying that they give considerable credibility to the subjects, and skeptical positions are given as more of a token advisery at the start. Or there will be just one skeptic (at most) on the show who won't have much time or attention given to them.
