I recently received this chain mail from a relative of mine :

At a prayer meeting held in Akron, Ohio on February 11, 2003 one of the prayer warriors mentioned that the Lord woke him in the middle of the night and told him that if one million people would pray for Sadaam Hussein to abdicate the presidency of Iraq, we would avoid war. At the meeting we agreed to contact 10 believers and ask that each one contact 10 more belieivers. Please pass this on and with God's mercy we will avoid such a conflict.

Yours in Christ,

This made me chuckle a little bit. Now God is taking votes for his actions. It is nice to know that the workings of the universe are now a democracy, instead of the dictatorship they have been for the past few thousand years.

I also like the phrase "prayer warriors". The word "jihad" comes to mind, but I cannot think of anything funny to put with that to make it sound futile and foolishly optimistic at the same time.

That is really dumb!

Everyone knows the best e-mails are the ones to forward where Bill Gates (or someone similar) will pay you money for every person you pass it on to.

Silly Rabbi, Trids are for Kicks!

:p

The really scary part:

If Sadaam does step down (it could happen, but I don't consider it very probable), these boobs will surely claim credit for making it happen.

Heh, I got that email too. After getting a chain letter, I always check it versus Hoaxbusters (http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/).

Of course, nothing was there about the email. Either it was too new or it was because of the fact that there is no way to prove that it's a hoax. If Saddam stays in power and we go to war, obviously it was because they didn't get the required one million prayers, not because the email was a joke nor because God's not judging which side prays more.
