Rapture Ready blocks JREF members?

I decided to register with Rapture Ready so that I might read and post if I wanted. (So far, I've only lurked)

I've registered twice, under two different persona. The first time I didn't use my 'Calladus' handle, and was able to register easily. However, I've decided to be honest about who I am, and decided to post under my Calladus handle instead.

Just one problem.

R-R will not allow me to post under this name! What's up with that? Do they cross-reference new posters with JREF's member list?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Has anyone else experienced this?

Can you still post under the original account? My best guess would be that they noticed that the IPs for the two accounts were the same and decided that the second account was a sockpuppet. I've been active there for about a year and a half now, so if you give me the username you used originally I'll check with the mods to see if this is indeed what happened. If so, I can ask them to disable your original account and activate the new one.

I've been waiting on account activation for weeks. I registered there as louis, but no activation as of yet. :(

Yes, I can post under the original account. I think you are right about sockpuppeting - and that there is nothing sinister about it. I've sent you a PM.

I registered for RaptureReady under the name "Yahweh" (quite a stretch from what I usually call myself on the net, which is "Yahweh"). Its been weeks, my account still has not been activated.

I signed my signature as "Heehee, they eat mice"... maybe the RaptureReady people just dont understand my humor...

OK, I've asked for your original account to be renamed. Figured that'd be quicker than having it disabled and the other one reinstated. I suspect they might need you to PM them yourself from that account to confirm, though. I'll let you know.

Hm. I'm don't think I do either. Seems like a pop-culture quote of some sort - where does that comment come from? The TV series 'V'?

If I remember correctly, the quote originates from episode 99 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer entitled "The Weight of the World". The character Tara was rendered insane and made frequent incoherent outbursts, of which include "they kill mice" (I changed it to "eat mice", because it sounds nicer). I dont know why that particular quote sticks in my head...

This is why I always say I'm a Christian when I sign on to a Christian message board, and use names like "Apologetic" and "Brimstone." It prevents bias against me.

I registered about a year ago and posted as recently as about a month ago. No problems here.

My first logon persona dead, my second, 'Calladus' alive and kicking. And only a slight bit of paranoia.

In this thread (http://www.randi.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30644) C4ts talks about doing the same as I've just UN-done here. I'm not sure it's right to hide while on another board, and I would like to discuss this.
