If Morel was really a war criminal then it is a shame that he has escaped justice at the hands of his government. Also consider that he was tried in absentee without being able to speak for himself. Perhaps the trail was biased in a country that has become alarmingly anti-semetic? How could he get a fair trial? He was accused of the deaths of over 1000 people when there is the possibility that 600 or fewer were at the camp during his short time there.

You can not make the claim, that you seem to be making, that his freedom is unfair to the NAZI's that were tried, convicted, and executed for their war crimes. The two are completely unrelated. Because one Jewish guy gets protection from his government doesn't mean the NAZI's weren't guilty or deserved compassion. Did you ever consider that there were less prosecutions because Soviet Russia was around until 1991? That gives the criminals a long time to die, cover their tracks, hide, ect. It also gives the witnesses a long time die and any evidence a long time to be destroyed.

Hitler came to power in 1933 and was out 11 years later. Lots more evidence, witnesses, and criminals.
