I think I fried my motherboard. I had an ASUS A8N SLI Premium, and I liked it.. But it's time to move on. I have about 200 to spend on both board and cpu.
Any suggestions??

If you're looking for another SLI mobo, I dunno if you're gonna be able to find a good one and a decent CPU for under $200.
Do you have a Frys in your city? They usually bundle processors with a throw-away mobo (ECS brand) at a price that's below what you can get online. If not, check Newegg, Tigerdirect, or ZipZoomFly. Those guys also usually have special CPU/mobo deals.

This site has some cheap barebones combos:

You can get an Intel C2D e5200, motherboard, case and PSU for $169. I don't know if you're a gamer and/or overclocker, but that CPU is known to overclock well on the stock voltage. I'm not sure about the motherboard, though.

You'll need some DDR2 memory as well. Fortunately it's cheap as dirt these days - you can get 4GB of a decent brand for $40.

I just bought an Asus P5QL-E mobo for the new computer I built, it's ~$115 and has a LGA775 socket so you can put a wide variety of CPUs in it. I chose a Intel E8500, but you can find lesser CPUs for $80 or so and upgrade later if you want.
I've always preferred Asus mobos, they come with a 3 year warranty and have excellent customer service.

I just finished ordering parts to build my mother a "new" computer, she had a 10 year old Pentium II computer that couldn't even network with their other computer because it had no built-in ethernet connection and only had USB 1.1 ports. So I ordered a new mobo, CPU (Celeron dual core 2.0 Ghz), 2 GB of ram, graphics card, and dvd writer, the whole mess was ~$200. I'm only reusing the case and her hard drive.
It's not the latest and greatest computer by any means, but it will allow her to play poker online which is all she will probably use it for anyway.

There is no reason to SLI if your are heavy-handed budgeting.
As far as motherboard choice, you need to specify some information.
Would you be happy with an integrated GPU?
If not, do you require PCIE x16 for your existing video card or are you sporting an old AGP?
Do you want to salvage your existing memory sticks? If so, what are they?
Are your existing drives IDE/PATA or are they SATA (which version?)? Perhaps you have a mix?
Do you require an ethernet port on the mobo?
Do you prefer Intel or AMD? Both have decent low-end choices.
If you intend to salvage your power supply (keeping in mind that it might actualy be your current problem..), whats the wattage on it?

Well under $200 and so far I have no complaints.

I wanted an Abit AN78GS but they do not seem to exist.
Looking for similar. Here (http://www.custompc.co.uk/) are some motherboard reviews.
