I once heard that the reason he doesn't run for President, is because he doesn't want a pay cut.
If that's the case, I think we're safe from that for now. :)

Why not? Al Franken has set a precedent for self-obsessed, unfunny, childish clowns being elected (?) to the Senate.
Then again, I doubt Rush would be able to tolerate having to share floor time with 99 other people. Unless they give him a microphone and let him rant and rave for hours at a time, I doubt he'd like it much in the Senate.

Freeper's wet dream? I would think you liberals would love to see Limbaugh in the Senate as one of a hundred voices who gets ten seconds worth of sound bites once a week or so instead of having millions of people listening to him on the radio for a couple of hours every day.
Limbaugh is far more valuable to this country on the radio than in the Senate.

Sorry, I gotta disagree. In his prime on SNL, I found Al Franken to be quite funny. And he does have what it takes to get elected. He is good enough, he is smart enough, and doggonit, people like him.
As for precedent, not so sure either. I am certain that many previous senators have been described as 'self-obsessed', 'childish', or 'clowns' going back to 1789 and it would not surprise me if at least one previous senator has been described as all three.

Oh good God, no. If he runs for the Senate we'll have to hear more about the anal cysts that kept him out of the Vietnam War draft.

I'm sorry, but Limbaugh is about as valuable to this country as Pee Wee Herman. I'm pretty sure we'd get along just fine without him. I know I do.

Um...excuse me, but Pee Wee Herman is awesome. His show is a landmark in children's programming, and Pee Wee's Big Adventure is a fantastic movie.

Nope.
Good comedy writer, horrible comedian. His verbal delivery sucked then, and it sucks now.
This puts him in good company with Richard Byrd of West Va: nearly impossible to listen to Democratic Senator.

Does Rush really want to revisit his drug addiction in a national campaign?
And can he learn the phrase "the honorable senior senator from Massachusetts?"

U.S. Senate races are statewide, not national;
The senior senator from Massachusetts has had a longtime drug addiction and it doesn't seem to have bothered his constituents. And the President of the United States used cocaine in his reckless youth. So I submit that drug use is not a disqualification for high public office any more.
Did you see anything in the OP link that indicated that Limbaugh himself had any interest? You understand the meaning of the word "draft," right? Frankly, I would be less surprised to hear a cow moo over my shoulder as I type this than to hear that Limbaugh is running for the senate.

I actually forgot about my avatar. Now I sound like some kind of Pee Wee Herman-obsessed superfan.
I do love that movie though. It was Tim Burton's first major full-length movie!

The What Is Draft Rush (http://www.draftrushforsenate.com/what-is-draft-rush/) page was humorous. In particular:
If the welfare queen leftists can do it to get a non-U.S. born person elected as president then we can do this! But WE HAVE TO START IT!
No surprise there.

What state is Rush supposed to run in? He lives in New York, where he'd get about 22% of the vote. Maybe he's supposed to high-tail it back to Missouri or wherever the f--- he's supposed to come from, like Franken did to Minnesota (or Chris Matthews to Pennsylvania). Did the creators of this t-shirt & coffee mug site even think to write about that in their manifesto? Nope.

In his prime on SNL Chevy Chase was quite funny. The same can be said of Eddie Murphy.
Now they're all just washed up hacks living off their past reputation. I haven't heard Franken say anything remotely witty in a decade.

Rush will never hold public office because a lot of people in the GOP probably have a distaste for him. He is fine to do the messy stuff , but not good to officially run for office.
The old the King might employ a Hangman to do the dirty work, but will never invite him to dinner.

Well SOMEONE has to fill in as the lightning rod for the right wing nutjobs now that Hillary has moved up and Teddy is off limits.
Wouldn't it be ironic if Coleman's challenge were upheld?

No, the draft was there all along in those leaky old government buildings. Fortunately, the money in the stimulus package to retrofit federal buildings for energy efficiency includes money for weather stripping, so the draft will soon be gone. ;)

Actually I thought his state of residence was Florida? I know he has a mansion in Palm Beach and works out of the WJNO studios in West Palm Beach.
But in any case, were these people successful in convincing him to run, he has good enough political people around him to pick the most likely win and go for that. Some deep-red state. Not sure Florida counts as that any more.

What state do you think Rush would win against a mainstream Democratic opponent? Rush has his dittoheads, but also has some pretty high negatives. Plus decades of sound bites to use against him.

Fifty if he replaced Charles Schumer.

Let's see...100 senators, 20 point average increase in IQ by replacing one, that would imply that Limbaugh exceeds the IQ of the person replaced by...2000 points!
I will leave you the Schumer calculation for a homework assignment.
Can we assume you were not a math major?
