Power Balance from what I understand is a hologram that interacts with your bodies natural energy field to improve your balance. The worst part of this entire thing is a professor of mine is practically pitching this thing as if it really works. I was sent via email an "actual scientific study" done by some kinesiologists at St. Cloud State who are claiming there really is something to this. The study itself is less than one page long!!! Help me, Help, HELP...For the love of the FSM, Help!!!!

Help you do what exactly? Block email spam? That's pretty easy, but it's the wrong sub-forum.

What do you need help with?
If there's no science behind it, it will fall like a house of cards in a hurricane.
Stick to asking for facts, double-blind studies and peer-reviewed science and you can't fail.

I understand this is crap. I know this idea has been done before. When I searched the forum for this product it was not here. I was looking for a sound scientific put down to this product. Perhaps someone can remeber off hand another product that was similar that has been debunked so I can help my professor to see the truth in this matter.

Is this what you refer to?
http://powerbalance.net/
Complete nonsense, as you say.
Is your professor perhaps getting a cut from sales? That would make him a rogue.
If not, he's just an idiot. They're everywhere.

What kind of class does this professor teach? Perhaps this is some kind of test to see if students will use what they have learned in the class to show that he is wrong?

Hmm. Like a reverse Pascal's Wager but with an A+ mark for guessing correctly instead of an eternity with harps. Interesting idea. ;)

The problem is, there is NOTHING to "understand".
Australia is actually streets ahead of the US in uncovering these types of SCAM.
Check out this Australian TV program that EXPOSES Power Balance for the SCAM it is:
Google: Power Balance Bracelets on Today Tonight 22/12/2009.
The Australian FTC has also ruled it illegal to make unfounded claims about these types of products. LifeWave distributors in Australia rarely use the internet these days as they can be fined for doing so.
It's all a SCAM. Just like the LifeWave patches SCAM, the 8ight holographic discs SCAM (Warren Hanchey ex-LifeWave management) the CieAura SCAM (ex-LifeWave management) and on and on.
SCAM artists are jumping up and down in excitement at this "new age" method of extracting dollars from the unsuspecting public.
Flavor of the week is the use of the Applied Kinesiology "demonstration to "prove" that the products work.
The irony is, of course, that AK is itself a SCAM
Check out: Applied Kinesiology: Phony Muscle-Testing for "Allergies"
and "Nutrient Deficiencies" by Stephen Barrett MD
world wide web .quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/Tests/ak.html
Save your money and do your due diligence before parting with one cent.
Be very wary of anyone who wants to "prove" to you the miracle of LifeWave, 8ight, CieAura, Power Balance etc.
After posting a word about a YouTube Power Balance video I received this nice invite from a 33 year old "5 times Australian bodybuilding champion" to go to Australia so that he could "kill" me!
Google: SHAQUILLE O'NEAL - POWER BALANCE
"exposefraud shaquille o,neal has all the cash in the world?? ive got 1 and i am an australian body building champ 5 times??
and it works?? have you tryed it?? your a 58 year old crum who thinks the world ****s him over and lives with his mum?? get a life!! or go kill your self!! beter yet come to australia and ill do you ??"
What a nice roid quote from KISHLAN.
Nice to read his reasoned arguments for why anybody should buy into this particular SCAM.
Mind you, if you don't buy the Power Balance product, KISHLAN might just come round to your place and "do you"!
