View Full Version : Example of CT Fueled Mass Hysteria

I know that the woos WANT something horrible to happen so they can live out their military Rambo fantasies, but this is beginning to get absurd. Every time anyone sees people in military uniforms, they post on a CT board and mass hysteria gets stirred about "OH MY GOD THIS IS PROOF ITS COMING MARTIAL LAW OMG OMG OMG":

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread443912/pg1

What I love about this particular mass hysteria example is that everything mentioned would be completely normal. Troops go out in public when training. They have to get from Point A to B at some point and that means they are on the road at some point.

You notice all of this is from some guy calling everyone he knows and gossiping about military troops (must be nice to have this much time to get hysterical), so its all 2nd and 3rd hand information to begin with and could be completely wrong.

My favorite part is where he thinks hes on to something because one of the soliders says they were staying until "the system gets fixed." Maybe its the engineer corps and they are fixing something? Nah, couldn't be, must be martial law preparations.

This sort of insanity is a case study in how mass hysteria gets started when you have enough dumb people.

I have an old Atari and I KNOW for sure that we are going to be invaded from space soon!!! (Unless the asteroids cripple the aliens ships!)

if you crave fear and depression just stay on that site for a while...you'll get there.

I really don't know how ct's live day to day, always thinking the world is against them. I used to think like that and everyday I'd be waiting for an earthquake or alien ships to appear over my house or.....

it is no way to live. Pretend just pretend you are safe and live the best you can with a smile on your face, even while you are in a Fema camp or aliens are probing you. Living in constant fear is no way to be. I just don't know how they do it, those members on those sites?

Can anyone tell me?

I have one co-worker who voiced his concern that I was putting a camera in his work area during an upgrade to our systems. This is not the first time he has voiced this particular concern either. I was not putting in cameras, I was putting in an automation system and video server.

Now that is a lo-grade paranoia but its really not a huge leap from there ( being afraid that management has ordered secret cameras installed) to bigbadgov't woo.

don't underestimate the power of fear and paranoia coupling to produce a survival instinct like no other.

You see, at this point I'd stick a dummy camera up somewhere pointed at his desk.

Apparently I'm evil or something I'm told.

I liked this quote:

It's pretty much like that here in Memphis TN too...POLICE ARE EVERYWHERE!!!! They do sit on the side of the expressway in new model jeeps...they are out more than ever before...Its ridiculous..We ARE in a police state

More evidence that CT's don't know what a police state is.

It was considered:D
A 'lipstick ' camera point at his workspace with a cable running up into the drop ceiling was the suggested plan. He probably would not get the step ladder in the next room and actually check where the cable goes. After all his actions would be captured on tape somewhere.
He is known to be a snooper and his position requires that he be on shift alone in the building on overnight shifts. That is probably why he is paranoid about being seen.

However it was considered unproductive since we would just end up having to hire a replacement when he quit.:D
