i would love to ask these kids this question: have you ever made a dietary decision not based solely on taste?

I think I'll sue my car dealership for statisicly lowering my chances of survival.
This makes a mockery of the american justice system.

When are they going to get a clue as to why they're going down the tubes?
I've tried visiting their website to tell them how bad a local outlet is and there is nowhere to give any feedback.
Lack of constructive criticism is death to any organization.

And I have another question: what's in the fridge at home? Are they really expecting us to buy the story that McDonald's alone turned them into porkers?
Lemme guess: they all exercise a couple of times a week and their kitchens are all stocked with low fat foods, fruits and veggies. It was the trips to McD's that made them blimp out like a Thanksgiving Day balloon.
Yeah. Right.

I have to wonder where the kids are getting all this money to spend on McDonalds meals?
Perhaps the kids should sue their parents/extended family/employers/etc. for giving them the money that is used to help make them fat.

Yeah. Right.
You forget the Rockfeller conspiracy: must be something in the french fries ...

Lack of constructive criticism is death to any organization. Well, the problem here is that they are a franchise, and the McDonalds corporation does not maintain a lot of control over individual restaurants. Your better bet would have been to contact the franchise owner. Most of the time, it's one person that owns several local restaurants.
Oh yeah, and I think these lawsuits are all crap. It's foolish to expect a restaurant to tell you "well Fatty McFatFat, I think you've had enough Big Macs. Step away from the Big & Tasty there, Big McLargeHuge."

2 quick points...McDonalds breakfasts rule. Hotcakes, hashbrowns, those biscuit sandwiches, good stuff.
and as to where these kids are getting the money? i think the problem with NYC (i dont know how it is in the rest of the world) but it's cheaper to eat fast food then to eat healthy. if i go to the deli and get a turkey sandwich on whole wheat it's like 5.50 one can get a big mac, fries and soda for that price at mcdonalds.

Supposedly, McDonald's burgers taste better in their overseas restaurants (http://www.randi.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=13275&highlight=overseas).

Does McDonalds serve "Poutine?"
McDonalds cannot become The Satan until they start serving poutine... stack french fries into a hand-sized bowl, and melt a huge pile of cheese and gravy on top of that. Eat with fork.
It is the tastiest and most evil food in all of known space. And it looks like something alien eggs leap out of before clamping to someone's face.

The parent company does and should have some concern about quality. Apparently this is the main reason their business is down.

From the article:
... plaintiffs' claim that diners have no idea what is really in their food or that the products have allegedly become more harmful because of processing.
McDonalds has board/sign that shows nutritional information for their food. It's usually near the order counter somewhere.
But I can't for one minute think that these kids and their parents (who should know better, and are the real ones at fault here) actually believed that a diet of strictly McDonalds is healthy.
I wonder if the suit will be thrown out of court again.
(This isn't like the McDonald's coffee case. That case, though the award seemed out of whack, did have merit. This one? Who are the plaintiffs trying to kid...)

OK, so what if these kids choose to spend their money on Ben and Jerry's? A couple of tubs of that will get you, though it tastes pretty darn good. Who gets sued?

The grocery store. They shouldn't be peddling that sort of thing.
Heck, did you know that you can buy RAW MEAT at your local grocery store? How unhealthy can you get!

If I'm with a group that wants to eat at McDonalds I don't object. You can get a salad, and I kind of like the fruit and yogurt parfait. It's not a lot of choice, but there is a choice. Plus, you can say "No!" to supersize.
