Yesterday, I received The Amazing Meeting 2003 DVD, volume 2.

This DVD features lectures by Phil Plait (The Bad Astronomer), and The "Amazing" Randi, that they gave at The first Amazing Meeting.

Dr. Plait's lecture on "Planet X" is both informative and entertaining. He really knows how to "connect" with the audience.

James Randi is, as always, Amazing. A major highlight comes at the end when Randi performs a couple of "rope tricks". (how does he do it? I don't know, I'm not a magician.)

This is a marvelous DVD. Sorry to say, I wasn't able to attend "The Amazing Meeting", but this DVD makes up for that. I hope that the 2nd "Meeting" is also "recorded for posterity".

I most highly recommend that everyone interested get a copy of this...PRONTO!!

As someone who caught the "live show" I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Phil rocks. He was on Coast to Coast AM last night and kicked a** again. Randi... well 'nuff said.

I Hamilton Lives on Vol. 1? If so I recommend you get a copy of that installment as well.

I'm a little "short" of cash at the moment so I had to choose one over the other. (for now) Fortunately, having Phil and Randi on the same DVD made that choice easier.

I'm not sure how much of Forum culture you've absorbed yet, but if you've been lurking for a bit, you know we do a lot of favors for each other.

I have 5,800+ posts to the forum and am a well known entity. I happen to have some extra cash right now. If you want vol. 1. PM me your personal info and I'll order it for you.

This offer expires on Nov 30th when my rent is due. ;)

I "hang out" over at the Bad Astronomy BB. I don't spend a lot of time here...what can I say...I'm a BABB junkie.

HOT DAMN!!! First off, THANK YOU, VERY MUCH. I probibly overstated my "poorness". I'll be able to purchase "vol. 1" in the very near future. But, STILL...THANKS...I very much appreciate the offer!!

Can someone tell me if my little lecture made it to the DVD set? :D

Hi there, Girl 6,

I can only tell you about volume 2. On the JREF main page the BA and Randi are listed on volume 2, and that's exactly what you "get" of the DVD, the BA and Randi.

The listing for volume 1 is Michael Shermer and Dan Gavin...so I "assume" that's exactly what you'll "get" on that DVD.

So the answer to your question would be no...Sorry. :(

But I am curious, now. Just what was your "little lecture" about? Have you discussed it here on the board somewhere, and if so, can you point me in that direction?

Oh well...

I gave a talk about the forum and presented some statistics and some ideas for what the forum community can do to help foster the mission of the JREF. :)

And, shortly before that started, I presented Randi with a present from the forum members. :D

I'm sorry G6, you didn't make the cut. The only people on screen are Randi, Phil, Michael and Dan..plus a couple of volunteers and the backs of everyone's heads.

Hmm, strange grammar. Cool.

That's okay. :) However, thank you for confirming this.

- THIS year, I'm planning on bringing my video cam and lots and lots of tape. It's unfortunate that they had to pick and choose what to put on the DVD's... the entire AM was entertaining!

- Plus, heh heh, I want to be able to move around with the cam. =)
