You know, I don't even know if this belongs in Conspiracy Theories, cause this is 100% true. They have called for a new universal currency to replace the American dollar as the standard currency for major international exchanges, business, trade, etc etc.

Should we be worried? I really don't know.

I don't think so. It is probably going to be as popular and useful as Esperanto.

It may be true, but there is a difference between the facts of the story being true and China actually wanting this/believing it will happen. Its nothing more than political theater. This is much like Iran claiming that it wants to destroy Israel every other day. It may indeed be true, but it doesn't mean they are going to do it or have any plans to.

The bad thing is that the woos, of course, will use this as an excuse to back their NWO mythology even though its nothing more than a political show of force by a country thats having a good time at our expense (diplomatically speaking).

to me this disproves the woo's

they have all been saying the china, russia and iran were the good guys fighting the evil NWO. That the NWO was going to destroy the American currency to form the AMERO.

I have never heard a CT saying that China russia would call for a WORLD currency. (please keep in mind this is just discussion and most analysts think its posturing for the G-20)

oh and BTW Obama (isnt he a bad guy according to alex jones and co?) just said the dollar will stay the world standard.

You cant make a prediction and be 10% right and call it a correct prediction.

LightinDarkness nails it when he calls this "political theatre". However, it says a LOT about our current economic policy that the Chinese are hollering about "alternative reserve currency" again.

Under the woo is a serious recipe for inflation, and the Chinese are wise to it.

Obama said last night that he doesn't believe in a one world currency...The woos will believe him right?

Once the US is no longer the worlds largest economy, presuming that happens, the $ will no longer be the dominant currency. Probably better to consider a change sooner rather than later, whilst still able to call the shots.

Assuming we move to a new FIAT currency, with the same inflation-based approach to growth, isn't it fair to assume that the new currency will meet the same fate, unless we address the underlying issues with our modern banking system?

Also: I'm not sure economic size is a direct correlation to the value of a currency. Consider the GBP v. EURO / USD. Despite being a much smaller economy, the pound held up better than the dollar this past month. I think the issue is TRUST moreso than size, and right now, America's financial systems have betrayed a lot of trust.

Never going to happen, there's too much Neandertholic tribal BS in the world for a one world currency to work.

My concern over this, when I heard the story on NPR, was that this new currency being proposed did not seem to be actually linked to any real economy.

While the Euro and concept of the Amero do introduce new currencies, all they do is take economies currently seperated because of different currencies and bind them closer by imposing a shared currency.

My understanding from the story I heard was that this proposed new currency would not actually be linked to any real economy (ie people producing goods and services). I just don't see how any such currency would even be viable much less usefull as a standard currency.

Am I not understanding something here correctly?

The proposal is to use SDRs (http://www.economist.com/finance/displaystory.cfm?story_id=13382167).

SDRs are a basket of dollars, yen, euros, and pounds. How can they not be linked to real economies or real goods & services?

Thank you, as I indicated I thought I was not understanding something correctly and that was the case as I did not know about the SDR's

So who's going to make sure all the coke machines in the FEMA concentration camps are converted to the new global currency?

Well, the bad news is that all of the machines have just recently been configured to take the new 1 Amero coins (ẩ) and it would be far to expensive to retrofit them all at this point.

The even worse news is that they're all RC Cola machines.

What are the advantages to a single world currency?

What are the disadvantages?

Is Glenn Beck a tool, or is he a douche?
