I am currently reading about Silvio Gesell's ideas of Freiwirtschaft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freiwirtschaft)

Freigeld (free money)
All money is issued for a limited period by constant value (neither inflation, nor deflation).
Long-term saving requires investment in bonds or stocks.
Freiland (free land)
All land is owned by public institutions and can only be rented, not purchased (see also Henry George).

The (proposed) results include:
More private spending for consumption and investment
Consumers invest surplus money in expanding companies
Full employment: Work for everyone who can work
Rate of economic growth can be set by the society
Interest rates drop to almost zero percent in the long run
Freiland prevents high real estate prices
Tremendous social disparities will cease
Less working hours per week for everyone in the long run

Has anyone of you read his works and if yes what do you think about it?

I didn't read his work but some books on his ideas, notably Hermann Benjes "Wer hat Angst vor Silvio Gesell?" as well as skimming books by Klaus Popp, Helmut Creutz and Margrit Kennedy.

It sounds quite plausible and from what i've read the experiment at Wörgl showed that it can work in reality. Some of the bureaucratic costs could be avoided today by electronic cash with build-in devaluation and combined with the idea of a national dividend, it may be part of the way money is issued in the midterm future.

Definitely interesting.
