The devil is in the details. Hooking up all those spinal nerves, reattaching the spinal cord, all those afferent and efferent nerves.
Reattaching the self, itself, is a daunting task.

In principal yes, but medical science and technology needs to catch up.
The Nazi scientist experimented with this in the concentration camps. Some U.S. scientists successfully attached the severed heads of dogs on to circulatory systems of other dogs.
