It may be worse than even I feared.

I didn't know the US President could do that. You'd think Congress or the SCOTUS would have something to say.

Well, at least it's not the Jews, right?

I found NPR's narrative of the G20 summit this week to be somewhat interesting:

Prologue:
French Prime Minister Sarkozy threatens to walk out of the summit if he doesn't get what he wants.

Act 1:
Obama wants more stimulus spending, European leaders want more regulation. These differences look irreconcileable. What will happen next!?

Intermission:
Meanwhile, rioting on the streets of London!

Act 2:
The differences were reconcileable after all! All G20 leaders are in one accord!

Epilogue:
Incidentally, Obama didn't get any of the stimulus spending he asked for, but he did agree to the regulatory incraeases the European leaders wanted.

Note: Yes, I know all about the $1 trillion+ that will be added to the IMF. All I'm saying is that NPR wrapped up its narrative of the G20 meeting with a report this morning that Obama didn't actually get the stimulus spending he wanted in Act 1.

The Europeans are not into stimulus spending because their social safety net makes it possible for the poor to ride out a recession. They want more regulation so that our financial institutions do not lead them all down the same rabbit hole they did Iceland. Makes sense to me.

If they only knew that they are only people that are rejoicing, with the exception of benburch and upchurch of course.

Oooh! Can I call 'em?
I don't think many reasonable people expected all of Europe to fall into a happy conga line behind Obama. And if they did, the anti-Obama people still wouldn't like it. You'd hear stuff like:
"He's appeasing those socialist bastards. I thought the job of the American President was to put America first!"

Well, although it was accurate, it was like predicting that you'll get wet if you stand in the rain... No million dollars for you ;)

In Dick Morris' defense, he is a lying sack of {rule 10} (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/04/jon-stewart-hits-karl-rov_n_123852.html)
