View Full Version : CTs Angry about Masonic Maundy Thursday Observance, Hilartiy Ensues

Every year since I've been a member of the Scottish Rite, I have attended the closest Maundy Thursday observance - most cities have them. Although it occurs on Maundy Thursday (second part on Easter Sunday) and pays homage to Christianity - indeed the last supper is reenacted - it makes no statements of faith nor contains ideas based on faith in religion. Like all masonic observances, its more about altruistic philosophy than anything else.

Background (skip this part if you just want to see the truther goodness)
---
Just in case anyone is interested in the context of what goes on - the Thursday observance is called the Extinguishing of the Symbolic Light and the Sunday observance is called the Relighting of the Symbolic Light. The main purpose, although there are a few, is to remember the brethren who have passed on in the past year. It used to be a required attendance event for anyone who took the Scottish Rite degree called Knight Rose Croix, although now its just strongly encouraged.

Most parts of both services are completely open to the public and everyone I've attended has had a large non-mason attendance. Non-masons are in the building but not in the room for certain closed parts. As with all "private" masonic ritual the private parts have been published and are available for anyone who cares to know what goes on behind closed doors for some time. In the case of this particular ritual, since 1925.

Harmless, right? You'd think so.
---

As I made my way to an observance yesterday I stopped to fill up on gas at a station about a mile from the masonic center where the observance was scheduled to occur. I have nothing that signifies my masonic membership except two rings (one blue lodge, one Scottish Rite) - I don't go all out with it like some brethren do with the decals, tshirts, pendants, etc. but have no problem with those who choose to do so. Anyways, the point is that someone would have to be looking for masonic rings to find me as I otherwise don't plaster a "I'm a freemason" sign above my head.

A group of three guys about my age (early-middle 20s) all with black "9/11 truth" shirts come up to me out of no where while I was filling up the gas tank. One of them told me that "We know who you are and what you are doing, you are a mason and worshiper of Baphomet. You are going to go participate in the occult worship of Lucifer today and Sunday at the masonic temple."

Now, not being used to being accused of demon worship outside of CT boards so directly, I was a bit taken back by this comment but informed this little group that baphomet was a creation of fiction and it was never used in freemasonry, its insertion is based on a well documented hoax, etc. I was told that I was lying and was a agent of the new world order occult. Before I could get another word in, the three of them turned around and one yelled that they would be protesting the "satanic observance" going on at the Scottish Rite temple on Sunday.

I never saw them when I arrived at the masonic center although they claimed they would only "protest" the blasphemous worship of Lucifer on Sunday when I go to the second part. As they appear to be complete nutters they might find something else to hate/fear monger about between now and then, but I anxiously await their protests and will update on Sunday if they occur!

Bring a video camera. It will either be good evidence in court, or a hilarious YouTube.

LightinDarkness

Thats a good idea. I am assuming that either (a) they were high and won't remember what they promised, (b) will listen to Alex Jones and find something else to hate monger, or (c) will fear monger themselves out of it.

However, in the event they do show up the video camera would be a good idea in case they turn violent...or as you say..quality youtube content.

On a different note, its annoying that the forum won't let you edit your thread title, the irony of talking about hilarity while spelling it wrong is not lost on me :)

Just until Dan Brown's next book comes out, in which the Masons get the sort of treatment he gave the Catholic Church in "The Da VInci Code".That will really bring the nutters out.

You should have told them that you needed some virgins to sacrifice if they weren't busy with anything.

Given the intelligence level of the people involved, while I must say this is a good idea I would also be kind of scared that they may volunteer anyways. After all, wouldn't be getting a glimpse into non-existent NWO cult rituals be like porn for CTers?

Hmm. This gives me an idea. I should spread to CTers that masonic NWO orgies are going on in the bottom of the grand canyon, and the only way they can get to it is by jumping.

Oh goody, CT input!

Unfortunately, like most CT input, its devoid of anything useful. You see, unlike CTs I have neither the desire nor time to create a hoax. And frankly if I were it would at least be interesting - deranged truthers looking for people with masonic rings to deride and promising protests is not all that interesting.

Of course, as we see from youtube, there are plenty of nutty and insane CTers who do just this - wandering around areas close to masonic centers looking for masons to find and mess with. Don't make me link to them and demonstrate the type of people you encourage.

Well, they do have all those kids hanging around.....:duck:

Another idea for LiD - if they do show up, you should consider inviting them inside for a tour, or something. And video it, just to see how they react.

I think you can pm a mod and ask for it to be corrected.

I'm looking forward to some of the questions we'll get when our Lodge is part of Doors Open, an annual local event where people can visit buildings and facilities that they wouldn't otherwise have an opportunity to. There's an evil streak in me that wants to put a fake skull in the Secretary's desk to see the squawking if anyone goes snooping around. :D

24 hours after the tours you'll someone popping up on ATS proclaiming that they "infiltrated" the secret rooms of a lodge and discovered its satanic NWO origins!!!!11111

We give tours pretty often and I've sometimes thought of doing that.....it would be mean and just further someones delusions...but the comedy would be golden. Particularly if you can hide something in plain sight - like maybe put a copy of Protocols on a library bookshelf near the door :)

I'd say for every tour I've given at least one person looks abjectly disappointed that things weren't as sexy as they imagined. One time I was flat out asked where the black robes and pentagrams were being stored.

Well, sadly I must report that while the CTers were there, I didn't get any video - because they were driving around the block in circles around the masonic center building, apparently. When I got there earlier today I looked for them and didn't see anyone so I started to make my way inside when - looking towards the road, what do I see but the CTers driving by and staring at the general direction of the building. If they hadn't been so obviously staring and had the windows rolled down I wouldn't have noticed. They were gone before I could get my camera out.

I waited for a bit outside but didn't see them drive back around. After the festivities I waited outside again for 10 minutes to see if I could spot them, no such luck.

Alas, all those guys walking around in knight costumes must have scared them away. They missed out on the orgies and sacrifices.

Who was it on the old LCF that was going on about how he was going to expose the truth when he went before the judge on charges for vandalizing a masonic temple?

But this is normal behaviour. Don't most CT'ists always go round in circles?

That sounds like Jeff-somebody from Sault Ste. Marie, also known as "Shure", who used to phone people up and record them while asking stupid questions.

You may have been curse'd (That's "Cursed" with an extra "ed"), and in BIG trouble, now.

JREF has such good talent for making fun of anti-masons. I have a square and compass necklace that I might have to start wearing outside my shirt just to get some more stories for the board to read the reactions.

I teach two freshmen level classes next semester. Considering most of the students are in their late teens, which is also when a lot of people get into conspiracy theories -

Young people + TA with square and compass pendant = comedy likely to ensue.

Ah, I see. Well - I literally think there is someone on ATS called Tubal Caine, or it might have been some other conspiracy board.

Its actually rather kind of funny. These are often the same people who accuse masons of being luciferian cult members...who just read Duncan's ritual to get their user name so they can show how clever they are. Having read it, they see clearly there is no relationship to what they claim and what goes on (although no one follows Duncan's ritual, general order and the explanations given are approximately right). And yet...even still...they ignore all that and continue with the insane claims of lucifer worship and whatever else.

Also, and this is the joke I was originally trying to make, if you say "Tubal Cain" to a judge in a court of law (according to News Radio):

a) You immediately win your case
b) The judge will have to go and paddle other judges in a secret ceremony.

All I can say is I've rarely had a joke fail so spectacularly. But the day is young.

Right, its one of the words Duncan's Ritual makes a big deal out of. Interestingly, Duncan's Ritual is pretty similar to current ritual and I think its a good demonstration of how utterly benign freemasonry is. Somehow though, anti-masons read it and find footprints (or that would be hoof prints) of the devil all over it even though it doesn't contain any evidence of the accusations they usually make.

So what happens is anti-masons read it and use all sorts of names/words/etc. that they find in their posts or user names on forums in an attempt to "offend" the masons, and occasionally in their fervor to get to flaming masons they make spelling mistakes with them.

You may think its a joke, but you'd be surprised how many anti-masons genuinely believe this.

What would really happen, of course, is that if there were no masons in the court room people would look at you like you are crazy. If there were masons, they'd probably start laughing.
