View Full Version : Animal & human ghosts?

Or just my collegues in the animal rescue world as flaky as my hubby makes them out to be...
I have always staunchly defended them and said that they weren't flaky, they just cared for the environment and it's inhabitants.
Unfortunately they've hung themselves and lately they've posted several pictures with 'ghosts' in them
The story behind this is that it was taken of the two dogs in the left hand corner, and the 'ghosts' (a puppy and a face) aren't smoke or air from cold.

I always kinda wonder why no one ever sees dinosaur ghosts...
(Maybe dinosaurs dont have souls... :D )

these dogs sure look like Labradors to me. This either has to be an outright fake or an amazing resemblance of fog or whatever to this breed or ..?

The "smoke" doesn't really look like actual smoke to me. More like some fluffy fabric very close to the camera. The two dogs are simply just dogs, one lying, one standing. That was an easy one. :p

Then it might be fun and instructive to replicate this effect....

LOL
The golden retriever and the labrador in the left hand corner are real dogs, it's the 'smokey stuff' that's got all my animal rescue buddies oohing and aaahing over the puppy ghost

Ok, I see the two dogs in the corner (yes, I know they are real dogs), I cant see the dogs that are having all the Animal Rescue Collegues oohing and ahhing.
(The picture is obviously fake, I just want to see what has them so riled up...)

apparently some of the people at the animal site didn't either so my acquaintance pointed it out...

Ahh! :o
I see it now after you have circled it, but can't understand how it could possibly make people oohing and aaahing. These people should take a look at the clouds. They can find horse "ghosts", dog "ghosts" and numerous sheep "ghosts" by doing that.

I found Cthulhu too!
Here it is! (http://www10.brinkster.com/yahwehofnod/images/IsItChulthu.jpg)
(I could have made the image look better if I put a little more than 5 minutes into the thing... oh, and I added some fog in the trees...)
Edit to add: The webhost I have the image stored on wont let outside servers retrieve it (possibly to conserve bandwith), I've changed the image to a link.

When I click on it, all I get is this:
HTTP1.1 STATUS 403 Remote Access to this object forbidden This file cannot be directly accessed from a remote site, but must be linked through the Brinkster Member's site.

Was the "ghost" visible to the people present, or did it only show up later in the pictures?
It looks suspiciously two dimensional to me. One vote for smudge on the lens.

Apparently that server checks the referrer of images. You can see it by going here (http://www10.brinkster.com/yahwehofnod/images/), then pasting http://www10.brinkster.com/yahwehofnod/images/IsItChulthu.jpg into the address bar.
Yahweh, if you create an html page containing only {img src="URL_OF_IMAGE"} then you can link people to the html file.

And of course, if it looks like a ghost and quacks like a ghost...

Is it just me or does it look like someone upped the contrast on the image just a bit?

I'll just reduce the size of the image from 657 x 336 down to 520 x 265... it looks like I havent lost too much image quality :)... unfortunately I've misspelled "Cthulhu"...

Photo taken through a frosty window?
It's all specualtion. I can photoshop up an image just like that, and put some UFO's and bigfootsies in there for good measure.

Wow, that's amazing. Your colleagues have managed to capture a rare breed of canine, the "adobe incredulus". Congratulations!

By the way, just my two cents on these types of pictures:
Why is it always dumb, goofy pictures? Why doesn't the "other side" find some other way to show that it exists? Why is it always bent spoons, or orbs, or camera fogging?
Dammit, you'd think they'd care enough. Apparently not.

yeah! Whatever happened to that smile your mother was so proud of? What's so hard about a wave? and maybe you could try a bit harder to be seen, I mean c'mon! We're doing you a favour by taking your picture in the first place!

I think one of those dogs came up and licked the lens before the photo was taken.
Does the ghost dog howl shortly before someone dies?

I guess it finally took a pupdog to intuitively figure out the behavior that resulted in this photo. If only all dogs could talk and communicate on the net

I know it's a piece of sh*t. I suppose if I'm honest I only posted it here so I could say it...
On my animal rescue board (here's a link in case anyone's interested)
Irishanimalsonline (http://www.irishanimals.ie)
There's a 'discussion board there, you'll need to register in order to be able to view most of the forums.
I have to be careful not to alienate people as politics are as rife there as in any other organisation of people.

Actually, now you mention it, you could have something there. The Loch Ness Monster and Mokele-Mbembe aren't real living dinosaurs at all, they're ghosts. That explains completely why they're so elusive.

The dog didn't even say anything, so how can you say it's lying? :p
It's demons in the form of Dogs like the ones who commanded David Berkowitz to kill, as he testified at his trial.
Either that or it's Jesus and Mary in disguise. :D

If you play around with brightness and contrast, and make it b&w, it becomes obvious... No one else noticed this?
