when I first came across this article, I was a little afraid.

"what if the mainstream media IS starting to jump onto 9-11 truth? this could be bad for us debunkers!!" I thought.

but then, I read the article.

what is the amazing evidence they mention? what is their smoking gun?

"On Sept. 11, an NBC reporter quoted (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKaL4eqd_h4&feature=related) New York Fire Department Chief of Safety Albert Turi as saying he believed there were explosives planted in one of the towers."

:);):D:p:cool::o:D;):p:D

and this lovely one:

"Firefighters for 9/11 Truth (http://firefightersfor911truth.org/), a Web site started in 2008, says the government destroyed evidence that 7 World Trade Center was blown up and hosts a petition (http://firefightersfor911truth.org/?page_id=469) asking Congress to look into the possibility that "exotic accelerants" destroyed the buildings"

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

and this puppy:

" Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (http://www.ae911truth.org/) point to the physics of the towers' collapse—its "free fall" pace, the "lateral ejection" of steel, the "mid-air pulverization of concrete"—as evidence that they could not have fallen exclusively because of the planes' impact. Pilots for 9/11 Truth (http://www.pilotsfor911truth.org/) have their own set of theories that focus on the planes' black boxes and flight paths, arguing, for example, that the hijackers of American Airlines Flight 77 would have had to perform an extremely difficult aerial maneuver to hit the Pentagon where they did. Lawyers for 9/11 Truth (http://www.lawyersfor911truth.blogspot.com/) conclude that the 9/11 Commission investigation was inadequate. There's also Scholars for 9/11 Truth and Justice (http://stj911.org/) (not to be confused with its rival, Scholars for 9/11 Truth), which tackles scientific aspects of the towers' collapse, such as the alleged residue of explosive materials like thermate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermate) in the dust at Ground Zero."

:D:D:D:):):););)

Hee heee heee. Its funny I know. For a second I was worried. But then I read.

A bunch of very biased people, who started with an incredible conclusion and then sought to find proof of their conclusion (and failed miserably), are quoted. I am not impressed at all. This just like Bush and Iraqi WMDs. Its called the scientific method...in reverse.

Back to the drawing board, truthees.

According to the 9/11 cult, they are always just about to be proven and get world wide media vindication... for 7 years it's been, aannnyyy day now... aaaannnyyy day now...

I pray none of them have been holding their breath, waiting for that big day. There would be a lot of dead truthers if they did.

And look here at what one of those silly little boys did:

They are soo clever. Too bad immature antics like this, and harrassing VIPs, is all they got.

So sad.

Parky;

If you truly believe the truthers have no evidence, and if you truly believe that the official explanation is pretty close to correct, then why would you fear the MSM picking up on their story? They did it back in 2006, and tore the idiots a new one. If some MSM do pick up on Jones paper, etc... (highly unlikely, but in the realm of possibility) It will only bring their pseudoscience trash to the light, where REAL scientists will see it and laugh.

And politicians have difficulty saying "No" once they commit.

...so if one bites you will tend to see "Give them a fair hearing" type statements.

But, from outside the US, it does not seem to have the same support as "creationism". It relies on distrust of government which is not as strong a creed as pure fundamental religion. (If that is not an oxymoron???)

You missed the best part, Parky. The Slate reporter claims the DeMasi story has been corroborated by another first responder (phony Bellone-y). Guess where he links to show the corroboration?

American Free Press (http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/black_box.html).

Bwahahahahahahaha!

I looked up the author, Christopher Beam, who appears a little wet behind the ears, have only graduated from college in 2006. He also writes a gossip blog, I let you come to your own conclusions.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Beam

This got linked in another thread (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?p=4601964#post4601964) (although I'm not sure why).

If I have time, this weekend I will be drafting a letter to the editors of The Slate refuting in detail much of what this article states and/or implies. I encourage others to do the same.

This is very revealing! Parky let's shine through that he doesn't believe his own professed debunker convictions!!

Parky is just worried to death that the truth about 9/11 will come out in the open, because parky understands very well the consequences for his group if that happens.

Although TAM holds the wrong opinions about 9/11 (according to me) he at least has a reasonable undertone in his posts.

Who is "my group"?

What are the consequences for "my group" that I should fear?

He did mention something about sending people to Madagaskar [sic] in some other thread. At first, I thought it was just the jooos that had to go. I guess it's also reserved for people that openly denounce his filthy nazi lies since I apparently have to go. Well, I guess you are kind of screwed since you are both.
