Learning about all the conspiracy theories and finding out how much of a conspiracy-ridden country we live in, I have to wonder--why all the gloom and doom? Surely in a conspiracy laden environment, such as the one we live in, there has to be some lighter-hearted conspiracies afoot?

I submit shawmutt's hypothesis. For every valid gloom and doom conspiracy, due to ineptitude, carelessness, or other human conditions, there must be at least ten silly conspiracies. Since there is not a plethora of silly conspiracies to choose from, most gloom and doom conspiracies are invalid. Thoughts?

You mean the 9/11 conspiracy theories DON'T fall into the 'Silly' category.

Oh. I thought they were kind of like... running jokes

To be a joke they would have to be funny. They are only pathetic.

Are you kidding? The 9/11 conspiracy is full of chuckles!

For instance, and exchange I had with a person (lol!) who was just, you know (lol!) asking questions! lol!

Starting here: http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41625&st=615&p=2839937&#entry2839937 He/she is telling us why flight 77 didn't hit the Pentagon.

Him/her: Watch the clips at these time frames, to me it doesn't seem like a plane. To small.

Me: Well, something knocked down the lightpoles. If it wasn't a plane, what was it?

Him/her: I'm not a CT'er and by no means have those answers. All I'm saying is it does not appear to be a 757 aircraft.

Me: Well that's certainly a cop-out. You took special care to tell us exactly why you don't believe it's a plane, yet won't venture a guess as to what it actually is?

Him/her: Not a cop-out an omision as I don't have the answer. You want me to make one up ok, the light posts were rigged to come down LOL there ya go :wink2: oh ya, with thermite LOL

See? LOLOLOLZOR!!! It's so much fun to exonerate terrorists and play around with the lives of innocent civilians!!!

You want a silly conspiracy? OK. The US Postal service is deliberately damaging and/or breaking all of my Netflix DVDs.

Actually, NetFlix is a black project in cooperation with the NSA and the DVD's contain subliminal messages. Now a secret Twoof-division infiltrated the postal service to damage all the DVD's coming from NetFlix.

You might ask why the Twoof-Division didn't decide to infiltrate NetFlix itself. Well, that's because they realized that there is a 50% chance that there is no NetFlix conspiracy, so to avoid any embarrassment, they decided to keep a low profile. [/twilightzonetheme]

Well, they do have to separate out the Netflix envelopes and deposit them in a special bin every evening, so it could be happening.

What about Tim and Eric's Awesome Show? There has to be a conspiracy involved with that show, as it is proffered as comedy but is actually a crime against Humanity as dire as any war crime.

I heard this really funny CT that one of the first people that Mr. Barack "We Are Change" Obama met up with in Afghanistan in July 2008 was Gul Agha Sherzai, notorious ex-governor/warlord of Kandahar, infamous for his cruelty, trafficking in drugs, corruption, and pederasty with young boys.

And if Sherzai was hostile to the US, you would be singing his praises.

That was quite pathetic, and exposes your deep seeded mental issues.

Really? Perhaps you'd like to give some details of how you arrived at your somewhat seedy conclusion.

I can't speek for Platypus, but I'd assume it would have something to do with the fact that you strolled into a thread talking about absurd ("lighter-hearted") conspiracy theories, and as an antisocial gesture decided to post something so negative, with the anti-American tint which as become characteristic of your posts on this subforum.

Thanks for your suggestion and sorry for not getting on down with the ridicule fiesta.

What are my "deep-seeded mental issues"?

What does "anti-American" mean?

This maybe

Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) is defined by the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual as "...a pervasive pattern of disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others that begins in childhood or early adolescence and continues into adulthood."[1] Deceit and manipulation are considered essential features of the disorder. Therefore, it is essential in making the diagnosis to collect material from sources other than the individual being diagnosed. Also, the individual must be age 18 or older as well as have a documented history of a conduct disorder before the age of 15.[1] People having antisocial personality disorder are sometimes referred to as "sociopaths" and "psychopaths", although some researchers believe that these terms are not synonymous with ASPD.

I'm a radical behaviorist, so to me it's all nonsense. JihadJane is a troll explains it much better.

I've been saying the same thing about JJ for quite some time given the fact she laughed when I said truthers should not be calling for the deaths of those they disagree with.

It would be hard for any rational person to be in love with a person who thinks its funny when truthers calls for the death of debunkers.
