Can you see it? Towards the bottom left.

Link here (http://marsrover.nasa.gov/gallery/all/2/p/513/2P171912249EFFAAL4P2425L7M1.HTML):).

I don't believe this for a second, of course, but it's a nice picture nonetheless.

I'm convinced. I say we start a new religion, based on this artefact of an obviously superior race of space "angels"

( I thought it was artifact, but spell checker tells me differently )

I think it's artefact in UK English and artifact in US English, or the other way around.

Finally!!! We now know where Jimmy Hoffa is buried!

And that's a dragon's skull directly above it.

But that simply doesn't explain the facts.

My theory takes all the facts into account: when Noah built the Ark, the story handed down by word of mouth got a little garbled. There was actually a fleet of them (enough to hold all the animals as the Biblical record accurately states). One of them even had Bigfoot on it. That particular one got swept up in a Fortean, interplanetary river and crashed on Mars. That's why you see things like the mysterious plank (a timber from the Ark) and Bigfoot on Mars. This human skull was obviously one of Noah's relatives that commanded the Mars-bound Ark.

See? My theory explains everything!
;)

Either way, though, an artifact is a made thing. Unless it's meant to be a carving or other model of a skull, a skull isn't an artifact (or artefact).

But you forgot the method of how that ark got to another planet...

I suspect as that ark approached Atlantis, the aliens there were also evacuating because of the flood and they activated their entersuperpandiemenshunal stargate it accidentally grabbed the ark (because of the astro-harmonics of the horns on the last two surviving unicorns) and flung it toward red planet. Since it's well known that Mars was wet and lush back then, they were able to survive and thrive for centuries, creating the pyramids and carving the face to mark their existence for those who come after.

It will all be revealed in the new Testament of this new religion.

Aaarrrggghhhhh, Damn spell checker, it couldn't even tell me I had the wrong word, much less the wrong continental context!

Could still be a relic, I guess, more likely an alien fossil. ( could be a rock, but that's no fun ( apologies to geologists) )

I still say this justifies a new religion. Rock-sta-farians?

About 40% across the picture, just below the line where the sane ends and the rocks begin, Barney the Dinosaur is watching a teddy bear.;)

What's more shocking is that there's clearly a Jawa Sandcrawler on Mars!
(see above the "skull")

Relax, they said. Don't worry, they said. No one would EVER look there for a body!

Geez, it's getting so a guy can't hide evidence ANYWHERE any more!!!

I don't think it's the same picture (or same rock) as the one in the "alien skull" thread.

Ooohh!! I see bigfoot has also survived the Ark disaster:

Now I don't know if that coprolite came from Bigfoot or one of the other animals on that particular Ark (such as a dragon or even a unicorn).

But, yes--the interplanetary Ark theory explains it all! And Bigfoot definitely survived the Ark crash landing:

Actually, the skull was left behind following an all-Bigfoot production of Hamlet.

Alas, poor Yorick! Many were the times he hath been photographed and filmed in poor focus. . .

ETA: Yes, Bigfoot community theater is quite an experience. It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "chew the scenery".

Finally!!! We now know where Jimmy Hoffa is buried!

Not only could this be a celestial burial on Mars, but maybe the one/ones that disposed of Hoffa
way out there (why not the moon? heck of a lot closer) left behind some incriminating evidence.
We may have more than just Martian dust to speculate about.

An enhancement of this picture with a special program (of course)
I can clearly see what appears to be a indentation (partial heel print maybe) on the lower right.
If we could match it with a know primate (I assume it is a biped)
we may have our culprit (or another mysterious Nightmare on our hands here)

The photo (at the start of the thread) looks like a grave yard of skulls of a variety of extraterrestrial beings if you use your imagination

Ooh, I just saw the eyes of Mona Lisa! On the boundary with the sand, just above the group of white rocks, you can see the upper part of a face, with quite regular features, cocked somewhat to the left.
Do aliens forge art?

SHILL!! Dis-info agent!! JREF Heretic!! Pimple POPPER!!!

Everyone knows that the moon only exists as a soundstage at Area 51 and the moon we see at night is just a hologram projected by Boy Scout initiates into the Illuminati!

An obvious fake. The shadows of the plane and the rocks are in different directions. Clearly, you photoshopped the rocks into the picture!
