The Octopus: Secret Government and the Death of Danny Casolaro by Kenn Thomas and Jim Keith

"This book is especially important for anyone who still naively believes "there are no conspiracies." The word "conspiracy" means "to breathe together." Only two people are needed to make a conspiracy, and this book will leave you breathless."

"Danny Casolaro is a heroic figure who bravely and, perhaps, foolhardily attempted to foil the Octopus, whose tendons reach into the most intimate parts of all our lives. He should never be forgotten. Thank goodness for the valiant likes of Kenn Thomas and Jim Keith for telling his story. Movie studios should be clamoring for this highly untold story - but they are no doubt part of the Octopus. Danny, Kenn and Jim should be lauded for their audacity and courage in bringing forth this treacherous tale of murder and mayhem. Such valor is akin to that of Gary Webb in his expose of CIA drug-dealing."

....

Forget "The Da Vinci Code." "The Octopus" is more gripping, less contrived and, perhaps most importantly, actually well-written. And for the conspiracy curious who are merely dipping their toes in the kiddie pool, where else to dabble in such accusations as JFK was popped off by his driver, Oliver North started the drug trade in Colombia, cattle mutilations are blamed on UFOs but are part of biological warfare experiments, and the eight people who pull the strings in this world (the tentacles of The Octopus) began their conquest through a simple act of revenge? This is the kind of book, that were -- god-fearing Puritan-hicks forbid -- it to be discussed on CNN, people would burn CNN to the ground, which is why CNN will never seriously discuss the ideas in this book."

....

This is another murder, this time under King George I, instead of Clinton. The right and left wing wackos are not choosey.

Keith is dead now, too.

Joseph Daniel Casolaro (June 16, 1947 -- August 10, 1991) was an American freelance journalist.

Please rest in peace, Danny. May God bless your soul!

"The Octopus" is indeed worth a look. Casolaro's death is one of those I still have a lot of questions about, even though the authors (both Thomas and Keith) never met a conspiracy they didn't like and have a tendency to build cases based upon questionable evidence they take as a given.

Keith was big into Scientology, and Thomas is the brains behind Steamshovel Press which struck me as overly paranoid even in my most paranoid days. Still, I'll pretty much peruse anything from Feral House (http://feralhouse.com/), because even the most loony stuff (see "Secret and Supressed Vols 1-2) winds up being damn good reading.

the Octopus, whose tendons reach into the most intimate parts of all our lives.

I'm pretty sure octopuses don't actually have tendons.

. . . the Octopus, whose tendons reach into the most intimate parts of all our lives.

Are you sure you haven't got the Octopus confused with something else (http://pages.eidosnet.co.uk/pobotrol/whotickle.htm)?

Incidentally, according to Wiki octopuses don't have tentacles either. I'm not sure exactly what the technical definition of a tentacle is, but apparently the things on octopuses are arms.

Oh, god, more of the PROMIS stuff? All of these idiotic conspiracy theories interlock.

Fiction. Good analogy. This book is fiction like the Da Vinci Code.

begins with an investigation into an attempt to corner the market for law enforcement software and ends with the death of Princess Diana and 9/11. One needs a formidably extended elastic to find a link between the latter events and the death of Dany Casolaro.
... meager extension of L. Fletcher Prouty's book `The Secret Team'.
The only interesting pages are those explaining the PROMIS program (and backdoor software) and its ability to track movements of vast numbers of people around the world by tapping into the computers of, e.g., utility and credit card companies. ...
I cannot recommend this book.

Danny Casolaro, former part-owner of a computer industry newsletter, became deeply involved in investigating the alleged theft of case management software by the U.S. Justice Department for a proposed book. Along the way, his investigation widened to include Iran-Contra, the October Surprise, BCCI, the CIA and other entities, which Casolaro claimed to be part of a larger operation he dubbed "The Octopus."
...

... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone except the most paranoid conspiracy theorists. ... definitive book on Casolaro ... is yet to be written.

Good post, you are starting to wake up and experience the Truth.
