Clinton wouldn't have done this if he didn't want to.
This March, Clinton toured the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince with the U.N. chief to encourage investment after a year that saw a food crisis, destabilizing riots and four devastating tropical storms.

The following month, he attended a donors conference in Washington that resulted in pledges of $324 million for the struggling country. Haiti is the hemisphere's poorest nation and been mired for decades in political and social turmoil.He seems to have an interest in the country. Haiti is a perrenial basket case of a country. I'd be surprised (pleasantly) if Clinton can help turn it around.

Me too, but I thought it was a good idea to put a high profile individual in charge of a project to try to improve the lot of the Haitians. A stable Haiti would not only be in the interest of the Haitians it would be in the interest of every nearby country including the US.
