Place your vote here if you would attend TAM Down Under. This isn't actually happening, I'd just be interested to find out if anyone would attend...(hint hint).
Cheers,
Chris

I cannot attend, but want to voice my support for such a conference. Even if it weren't a full scale TAM or one sans Randi, there's enough interest in Australia to warrent some sort of Amaz!ng Meeting Down Under deserving of official support.

Well of course.
I believe the thinking behind the Aust Skeptics convention 2010 which will be in Sydney is to have something more TAM-like than in the past. We already have all the Skeptics Guide people coming and with luck Phil Plait so that's a very TAM-esque start.

I would be there like a shot. I'd also be supportive of an Amazing Cruise in the Great Barrier Reef.

I would certainly want to attend such an event, possibly even more than the one in Las Vegas...

Well, that's 6 of us. The TAM London venue holds 600 people. So if we can get 594 more...

Oh, I'd be there if you wait until Marcello is like 2 (late 2010) and I could bring him along.
Sydney cool. Melbourne better(I just prefer Melbourne - seems the food is better or at least it's less pretentious IMHO).
Somewhere up the Gold Coast probably even betterer, for a lot of folks, but less to do than Sydney/Melbourne.
(And we could all chip in and buy them some real candy. The poor things are still pushing those Minties and Tim Tams.)
In fact, with the advent of TAM London, maybe it'd be possible to have the regular TAM and a floating international version. One year UK, one year Australia, one year Hong Kong or Macau (me, gambling, me, chinese food, me, marcello, me, 4000 years of woo, me), etc.... In this fiscal environment I'm not able to head to London so I haven't even looked into the thread out of sheer jealousy,.... but I'm going to try to make it if there's a next one.

Melbourne less pretentious that Sydney?
Shirley, you jest.

I'm afraid that'd be your problem. Australia's size, relatively expensive air fares and the fact we don't really have the same number of activist skeptics as other countries would mean you'd be lucky to pull together the numbers.
You might be able to pull together something of a variation on TAM, which could attract more of the population (especially if it was timed during National Science Week, and got a grant or something...).
Don't mean to be a party pooper, but Australia isn't the UK or the US.
(thankfully :p)

Depend on where you imagine the comma to be in that sentence of mine. I was describing the food as less pretentious. Shirley probably agrees with me.
