"If the married women in the suburbs feel safer, I can tell you other women don't."

-Patricia Ireland, National Organization for Women, speaking of the War on Terror.

You got that? All you married suburban women don't count for *****, in this woman's view. You're supposed to be a single city girl (er, WOMYN), and you should be fearful because of President Bush's war.

This b!tch has total contempt for any woman who is a happily married fixture of her community, a proud mother, loving wife... anything but a trendy urban diva earns her complete scorn.

I think your reading a little much into the quote.

Its ironic how you blast her for what you see as sterotypical NOW views on gender roles, yet you are the one stereoptyping her as some NOW feminazi.

"Married fixture"? What century is this, exactly? I have nothing but utter contempt for any man (sic) who only values women in terms of their relationships with men.

How on earth is feeling safe on the subway related to your marital status? If a woman gets married today, will she suddenly feel safe on the subway?

Context, "American", context... the quote doesn't mean a damn thing as it is.
