Pretty good article on Oprah. I knew she was into wacko stuff but I didn't know she was this bad.

Interesting article. And fairly balanced too.

To Oprah's credit, when a fan of hers wrote in saying that she was going to treat her breast cancer with "The Secret", she had the woman appear on her show and urged her to listen to her doctors. Unfortunately, she doesn't seem to have learned any lessons from that experience as she still gives air time to all sorts of nonsense (harmless and otherwise).

The article does contain a serious inaccuracy though. Hormones such as oestrogen and progesterone are usually not "synthesised" (actually extracted) from mare urine, but are synthesised from plants and have been since the late 1930s or so, which is an interesting story (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/julian/) to tell all by itself.

Good article. It just kind of ends though, with no conclusion or wrap-up. It seems incomplete.
Does Oz still have his own show, or is that done now?

The scariest part of the article mentioned Jenny getting her own show.

My only complaint is that they let Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil off the hook.

It bothers me how they don’t make proper use of their comment filter.

Naturally, homeo hacks are jumping all over the comment button to tell readers that the article’s biased.…

That's actually okay. Their ranting turns off all people of intelligence.

But I must say I'm glad Newsweek had the chutzpah to take on such a popular figure. I wonder if it will open her eyes a little bit.
