It always seems to me that membership in the Illuminati would be a pretty good deal. Of course, nobody knows who the Illuminati are, and the Illuminati wouldn't admit who they are... I've had the thought before of printing off some Illuminati membership cards. The beauty is that no one could prove it false:P

A college friend of mine printed out membership cards for the group 'Evil Geniuses for a Better Tomorrow' from the Illuminati game by Steve Jackson Games. I carried mine around for about 5 years. Does that count?

Oh god, within 3 days of showing it to a CTer it would be front page news on Alex Jones and the 33 would provide "indisputable evidence" that the Illuminati were 33rd degree freemasons.

That reminds me: I've always wondered what CTers think of Rolling Rock beer.

I very well might do a little Rolling Rock research and find a good CT board to troll with my theory. If I do, I hope to post the results in the Stundie nominations thread.

We tried printing up membership cards, but people started using the scripts as a medium of exchange for goods and services. Those weren't denominations, folks; those numbers referred to the Golden Degrees (which we called Dollars), and identified what Golden Level you had recently passed!

Our second attempt was preempted by the appearance of those dad-burned Credit Cards. Then, our Gold ID Coins got mistaken for real money!

I think we'll just start using stamped dildos to identify members. Surely no one would use those for money...

We will be having a New Membership Table at TAM this year (it is the annual NWO Illuminati Membership Drive and Bake Off).

Look for the guys in the black suits and sun-glasses. Ask for Norm.

Michael Richards is apparently a 33 degree mason. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the current state of the organization. Of course that insane outburst at that comedy club could have just been staged as part of their overall plan to usher in a cashless one world government...

33rd degree is an honorary, pretty much reserved for celebs and leaders within the Scottish Rite branch of Masonry. Its sort of like an honorary degree from a college or university, somewhat meaningless. He joined and worked his way through the ranks (which can be done in a couple years), and has less to do with personal character than a mild interest in trying to be a better person.

A few years ago, during a mayor's race involving a gay man who was slowly working his way out of the closet, some of the people that I know were local freemasons made some very homophobic remarks. They are people, flawed just like the rest of us.

I was once very interested in joining the freemasons, based on their historic positions on tolerance and freedom of religion, but as this was when I was beginning to identify as an atheist, and atheist is the one religious group (?) not allowed within the American lodge system, I dropped the idea.
