1) 17-year-old girl that is so badly deformed that she needs a new heart and lungs.

2) Original owner of the first replacement set of heart and lungs.

3) Person who would have lived if the first set had been put into someone besides Jesica.

4) Original owner of second replacement set of heart and lungs.

5) Person who would have lived if the second set had been put into someone besides Jesica.

That's five people with meaningless deaths.

If there is a God, how can anyone think that He cares what happens to us?

It's all just a test of your faith. [insert name of deity here] kills thousands of people every day just to test other people's faith. Now shut up and go eat a taco!

I don't think persons 2 and 4 really count, because they were already dead anyways. It's not like they were murdered so that people could use their body parts.

Other than that, I agree.

Their deaths would have not been for naught if their organs gave someone else life. As they didn't, their deaths were meaningless.

My wife also informed me that the members of the family are illegal immigrants who refused to allow Jesica's good organs to be donated to a needy recipient.

They are also sueing the hospital. I am glad my taxes are going towards this sort of thing.

Lawsuit abuse (frivilous lawsuits) are a direct manifestation of people believing that there are no ultimate consequences for their actions.
