Ohh... yes... Christophera... We know him well. He's banned now, but he once started a thread that reached over 11,000 posts (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=57426). The title for that thread also introduced us ignorant sheep to the word "realistice".

So, I found some sites, someone called me a JREF-er ( I didn't know what that meant at the time) so I googled it, and here I am.

Well, I'm not really going to get into it, but have you never noticed that large fires seem to create less smoke ? Have you never seem smoke with lines of fire rinning through it to indicate significant fire. Apart from that if they brought down WTC7 I would not put it past them to throw in a few smoke generators which you can buy for ten a penny.?

Do you remember a photo of WTC7 that was everywhere a few years ago ? It was WTC7 with a huge wall of uniform white smoke risng away from it at a 45 degree angle ? I would love to find that one again. THAT was either a smoke machine or a photoshop job. It struck me as wrong from the first second that I looked at it.

Too much smoke, buildings falling too fast, buildings falling too perfectly, piloting skills that don't match the skill attributed to the hijackers, etc., etc...

What are some of the most ridiculous things you have ever heard?
This is a bit like asking "what parts of the sun are kinda hot"? But for sheer insanity, it's hard to top the story that on 9/11, terrorists were riding around NYC in a van that was painted with a picture of...
....wait, before I give away the ending here, just consider, if you dare: What would be the last thing you'd expect the 9/11 conspirators would have painted on the side of their van? Perhaps the words "Terrorist On Board"?? Nope, not crazy enough. A portrait of OBL sporting a halo? Not even close. The proud proclamation "I'm here to attack America"?
No, as blindingly stupid and nonsensical as these suggestions might appear, this claim made by CTers tops them all, and by a wide margin. You see, according to this story, the terrorists were driving around NYC on 9/11 in a van with...hold onto your sanity now...a picture of planes crashing into the WTC painted on the side!!!

The clothing is going to follow gravity whether the body has more mass or not. If a woman wearing a dress was falling would the skirt stay down around her ankles? If you're upside down, your clothes are going to fall towards the ground, not toward your feet.(If your feet are above you)
A skirt on a body with the hem originally facing downward is aerodynamcially different than a skirt that is "upside down", because air would fill the inside of the skirt like a parachute and cause drag . If you fall head first in a skirt, the initial momentum, is going to cause the skirt to move toward you head and once it is bunched up it will not be as affected by wind drag and will stay at least partially toward you head.

ach hem.
As an Atlantic Canadian, I wish to correct you sir.
That province is NEWFOUNDLAND.
TAM:D
Actually, that's where I'm from/live and I actually do pronounce it as "Newfinland".
But then, living all my life in town and too much mainland TV has probably messed with my accent. :p

In a photo of one of the towers collapsing there appears to be part of the structure still standing in the dust cloud, it looks like a nuclear submarine tipped up to stand on one end so therefore one of the towers had a nuclear reactor. The demolition was a secret way of decommisioning the secret reactor and there was some sort of meltdown which explains the pools of molten steel after.

Newfinland. lol. I gotta chuckle.
Atlantic Canadian huh? never heard that term b4. I'm off to Montreal in July!!

We use the term "Atlantic Canadian" and also "Maritimer". Montreal is what the old old folks use to refer to as part of "Upper" Canada.

Well since you live here, you probably remember how our dear Newfoundland brothers get upset if it is not pronounced properly...lol
It is true, though, that most of the world pronounces it "Newfinland" (but with much less emphasis on the "land", much like New England is spoken).
As well, I am sure you can vouch for the use of the term "Atlantic Canadian" and "Maritimer". Good to see another East Coaster at the JREF.

Yep, I can vouch for that. And to clarify, I'm actually a Newfoundlander born-and-raised and I pronounce it that way. Near as I can tell, there's at least four different local versions. Perhaps we only pretend there's a proper way to pronounce it in order to trick visitors. Heh heh heh. ;)

Aah Killtown... What can I say about that boy that hasn't been said already?...
See if you can find the thread he started here ages ago about the smoke plume in that famous photo taken in Shanksville that day(By Val McClatchey). If you can read through enough of it, you'll find the post where he added the length of the wingspan to the speed of the plane in order to determine the energy of impact (or something like that). Brilliant stupidity like that is hard to beat.
The fact that he kept claiming to be winning the argument was also quite amusing.

Oh yeah, and don't forget, it caame right over NYC. Which would be correct, if NYC was in Newfinland.

Ah, come on. I very clearly remember, first there was 9/11, and then this giant hurricane broke the NYC levies and the whole city was under water, and people were getting rescued from their rooftops while looting the stadium...
What?
New Orleans?
Oh. :boxedin:Never mind...

Well, mebbe it was the Screech talking?
Actually, I think Maritimers would answer with, "Who cares, eh?"
Lower/Upper... if it isn't The Maritimes, it doesn't matter.
(Do we get to have the traditional argument now about BC being a "maritime" province?) Happy belated Dominion Day/Canada Day/Whatever You Call It Now Day......

Wow. Some of this stuff is priceless.
from wikipedia:
The Eiffel Tower is 986 feet.
WTC1 was 1368 feet.
The CN Tower is 1500 feet.
(Antenna heights not included).
The Eiffel Tower is iron and uses many diagonal beams (X's) for strength.
The CN Tower is concrete.
WTC1, being a large enclosed box, suffered the greatest wind resistance of the three structures. What gave WTC1 its strength? I tend to conclude that it was built differently from what we've been told.
wow.

Tri.
for the judy woods page, all you really need to know is DEATH RAYS FROM OUTERSPACE.
famous quoted lines from her page
1400 cars spontaneously combust
1000 victims atomized (or was it vaporized?)
and of course deathbeams from outerspace.
Now with that said, she has a great collection of images on her page, and my favorite is the debunking of Steven Jones and (thermite) where she shows that aluminum does indead glow bright orange and red.
I personally LOVE to watch the twoofs throw down against each other... I mean dylan avery vs killtown video on youtube is classic. (an actual fist fight like in grade school)

It will take decades for engineering schools to recover from this if it is ever possible. It shows that better science education is necessary for EVERYONE. It should start in grade school. We actually require too much math in science I think. They use it to make things more complex than necessary not to make things more comprehensible.
Less math, yea!:jaw-dropp
