Is there anywhere I can find a list of the important 9/11 conspiracy theorists, and what relevent credentials, if any, they have? The only scientsts/engineers/architects that I know of are Steven Jones who is a physicist and Richard Gage who is an architect.

Kurt Sonnenfeld is a junkie and self-confessed murder (http://forums.randi.org/showpost.php?p=4852248&postcount=115). How's that for "credentials"...?:D

To bring this back around to your actual question - the Wikipedia 9/11 conspiracy section has a fairly decent listing of who's who.
There is a thread here that is more concise as far as their claims vs. their credibility. They're tracked more closely here, too. For example Richard Gage has been known to seriously inflate the importance and reach of his group. Pilots for Truth is another group that's notorious for this sort of thing.
Where is that thread...I'll see if I can link it for you.

Come on guys. You're both showing the new guy some of the worst things about this board. Let's help him try to find this list, shall we? I admit, my search-fu is weak at the moment.
grandthefttoaster, welcome to the forums, first of all.
Is there a specific person you're looking for or theory you're interested in?

As noter further up, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Proponents_of_9/11_conspiracy_theories isn't a bad place to start if you just want a general over-view. The only issue is with the celebrity twoofers, as you have to have some damn good arguments/links at hand in order to add them to it, without their respective self-proclaimed "protectors" coming down on you. Of course, since you appear to be looking for scientsts/engineers/architects, that shouldn't matter much ;)

I have seen the wikipedia list. I am just interested in who these guys are and how many of them have any actual scientific credentials, as opposed to someone like David Ray Griffin who is a theology professor. I am wondering why there are so many groups of truthers and what the relationship between them is. I know that Steven Jones's "Scholars for Truth" split from Fetzers group because Fetzer had even crazier ideas then the rest of them, but I am not sure where "Architects and Engineers", for example fits into this story.

A few of them do. However, they are far out of their league when they spew their theories. For example, Richard Gage isn't a demolitions expert or a physics professor - although he should have at least a baseline understanding of physics in order to be a professional architect. The actual scope of his architectural experience is a little murky, IIRC.

Why are there so many diverging schools of thought in the JFK, moon landing, and NWO conspiracies? Who knows. Loose Change was the closest thing to a united theory the truthers ever had, and even that isn't saying much. Several elements of the TM won't have anything to do with Avery and Bermas.
and what the relationship between them is.
Not good. Read: The Great Fetzer Schism.

My .02 says they're just looking for a piece of the action. They've been begging for funding pretty profusely of late.

That's got to be about the most authoritative eye-rolling I've seen in some time.

Another good resource to understanding the evolution of various truther sects is Ref's timeline (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=119838).

I provide you with this link, only because you are looking for credentials.
Many of the truth activists are within these lists, but most people on the lists are people who have merely stated they have some doubts about the 9/11 commission. They do not neccesarily have issues with the official account of 9/11 as a whole. Read what they have said before you decide if they qualify as a truther.
