Consensual Cannibalism?

It's not just your ordinary garden variety murder and cannibalism story. This one has a twist: the victim was a willing participant.

While there was a lot disturbing about this story, the thing that bugs me most is this:

Using the pseudonym "Franky," he posted Internet ads saying: "If you are 18-25 you are my boy" or "Come to me I'll eat your delicious flesh."
Some 430 people responded to his e-mails within a year.
He got 430 responses? Ok. I’ll guess that some were just morbidly curious and maybe some thought “eat” was being used euphemistically, but 430 responses?
The Internet: bringing deeply twisted people together.
