View Full Version : Cantor Fitzgerald-why so many victims?

In each tower on 9/11 at the time the planes hit, there were 10,000 people-out of 25,000, or about 2/5 of capacity.
This is reflected in the proportion of workforce that died for each company that was located above the impact zones-except for Cantor Fitzgerald, who lost 2/3 of their total workforce.
Why were so many Cantor employees at work before 9 am, in contrast to other companies?
This is not a conspiracy theory, this is a genuine question, and I figured this forum was the most appropriate for it.

My neighbors two sons worked at Cantor Fitzgerald - both died. Reason for heavy loss
of life was that aircraft impact cut off all floors above 92th, nobody above escaped
Cantor being a "Wall Street" firm -it was a bond trader, many employees started early
and frequently worked 12 hour days
Marsh & Mclaine, an insurance firm, occupied 5 floors, from 93 to 98 lost several
hundred employees on 9/11

Have (note the present tense) a friend who worked in the South Tower. Saw what happened in the North Tower and decided it was a comp day.
Financial folks need to be available 24/7. At 7:46AM they were looking over what had happened in Europe and Asia

Nobody made it out above the impact zone in Tower 1. In Tower 2, many people had evacuated before the second plane hit, and there was one stairwell open.

Maybe they start earlier???THIS, actually, can be the reason. The markets in Europe start a lot earlier. The markets in Asia are already asleep.

I heard a rumor that employees were told to report early for a surprise B-day party for one of the executives. Ironic that he never showed up. Lucky him.

Just when you thought Truthers couldn't be any more insensitive and tasteless, our boy Tweeter comes along and lowers the bar another six inches.

I tell you whata Tweeter, I will pay for your airfare and hotel accomidations if you will come to GZ with me this year, and spout your idiotc nonsense to the firefighters of 10 house. I will even film it, and put it on YouTube, so you can have your 15 minutes of fame. Don't let your mouth write a check you A$$ can't cash.
Anyway Twitter,
I heaard a rumor that Camp David and the White House had been hit that day too. But, lo and behold, it wasn't.
We also heard rumors of:
-Another plane coming towards Manhattan
-Planes hitting Camp David
-Planes hiting the Capital building.
But, again, none of those are true. Lots of rumor were circulating that day. ( I was AT GZ that day, and saw 343 brothers die that day) I cannot even begin to tell you how many other rumors that we heard that day, and even the following days also.

From On Top of the World: The Remarkable Story of Howard Lutnick, Cantor Fitzgerald and the Twin Towers Attack by Tom Barbash:
"Cantor Fitzgerald operated out of the 101st through 105th floors. Of the firm's 1,000 New York employees, 658 were lost. [...]
Business on Wall Street begins way before eight o'clock, and by eight thirty the phones are ringing, the squawk box is blaring, markets are moving, and money is changing hands at a speed unmatched anywhere in the world. Because of this, 658 Cantor Fitzgerald traders and brokers, salespeople and secretaries, accountants and lawyers were on site." [p.8]

The reason is simple. The bond traders were trading on European Markets which are 8 hours ahead of US markets.

Correct. Out here on the west coast they start around 3:00 AM and my building would be full by 5:00, and an utter madhouse by the time the Dow opens. I don't see anything surprising about the majority of Cantor's employees being at work at the time of the attack.

it is actually
the guy survived

this shows the unpredictability of fire
even in the hands of PROFESSIONALS
youre attitude is why i hate "truth?"ers and their message
