For the first time I can not attend to one of these epic events, but I thought I might post it here for anyone interested in hacking etc.
https://har2009.org/program/
Yep, it is https.
The crowd is usually of the benign hacking kind, but expect your laptop to be totally raped if your security is not 100%
A must see are the people who do lockpicking; you will not feel safe with any kind of physical lock afterwards.
My virtual alter-ego might be present at some of the machines there.
So, if you ever wanted to really find out what hacking/cracking is all about, what real security means, what type of people hackers really are AND you are somewhere in the vicinity of the Netherlands around the middle of August, I sincerely recommend it.
It does not beat the DefCon in scale, but it sure beats it in atmosphere.
