The one who would make YouTube videos about how Barnes and Noble were secretly part of the Illuminati because they sell LaVey's "Satanic Bible" there? Most of his videos would end with him unfolding a giant circular cardboard pentagram and laying it in front of the bookshelf/Mormon temple/Masonic lodge he was harassing that week.

Well, he's still around! Except he's changed his name from John Conner to Mark Dice for no discernible reason, and he still makes his videos.

Check out this latest video, where he complains about "whackjob conspiracy theorists" who claim that he secretly works for the Vatican:

mF790-_GbOQ

The entire video, in which he literally makes fun of "paranoid" people without the slightest sense of irony (as a couple of the comments point out), is about ten minutes, so give yourself time.

It’s an aberrant though frequent phenomenon where conspiracy theorists themselves are accused by fellow conspiracy theorists of being an accomplice in the conspiracy theory.

Branding, my good man, branding. The CT types respond much better ($$$) when they know who you "really are". His anonymous Internet alias wasn't bringing in the bucks the way AJ and DA were, so he changed his marketing strategy.

Actually, I find it as funny as hell.

Wasn't he going by Mark Dice a while ago, and it was only later that we found out his name is John Conner?

No he was conner first, then went with Dice. I believe it was just after his claim to fame, which was verbally assaulting Danny Bonaduce.

Yep, he went by John Conner because that was the name of the character in Terminator and Terminator 2 who will be the leader of the resistance. He first came to our attention at SLC (http://screwloosechange.blogspot.com/2006/06/bold-speaker-of-truth-to-power.html) when he did some gimmick about jaywalking while talking about how 9-11 was an inside job, claiming that by doing so he was committing a terrorist action under the Patriot Act. Or something.

Then he did the Bonaduce thing (http://screwloosechange.blogspot.com/2006/12/john-conner-takes-on-partridge-family_16.html) which went completely viral (and appears to have been scripted as we found out when he interviewed Bonaduce (http://screwloosechange.blogspot.com/2007/06/mark-dice-vs-danny-bonaduce-rematch.html) prior to one of DB's boxing matches), and exploded on the web.

Later, Broadway star Christine Ebersole (http://screwloosechange.blogspot.com/2007/02/rosie-goes-truther.html) came on The View and talked about how she loved watching YouTube and especially John Conner. Which Rosie then responded by pointing out that this was the guy who says "9-11 was an inside job!"

Obviously (given what happened later) it was a scripted bit to let Rosie express her trooferism sub rosa, although Ebersole herself is clearly a Troofer; she was standing next to Alex Jones at the 9-11-07 festivities, and she actually performed at the We Are Change concert, which must have gone over well--can you imagine singing "Surrey with the Fringe On Top" to a bunch of teenage rap fans?

Anyway, having gotten his fame, Connor discovered that he didn't have any rights to the name since it wasn't his, and since this was getting in the way of making a buck off one's fame, he went with Mark Dice. Which he says is close enough to his real name, but not unpronounceable like the original; I assume it's something like Dykznesky or similar.

The last I heard, he was talking about how the new Starbucks logo (http://www.startribune.com/nation/18969709.html?location_refer=Homepage) had the mermaid with her... um, legs or fins or tail, spread like a whore. Mark definitely has the vivid imagination (although it is a pretty weird graphic).

sometimes I think we should embrace the wingnuts simply because of the entertainment they provide.

Makes you wonder how many actual practicing Satanists are 9/11 Truthers.

I'd say none, since advancement in the Church is tied to one's professional achievements. They also don't particularly like idiots from what I can tell.

It's hard being taken seriously as a conspiracy theorist, but it's even harder when you're "John Conner", a man leading "the Resistance", and preparing for battle against the evil gubbermint and their "killer terminator robots" (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8248033921995619429).

Seriously.

But Mark Dice isn't just here to save humanity from the Satanists, Illuminati, and killer robots. Problems with women? Just check out Dice's THE Book on Dating: Strategies Every Guy Should Know (http://www.amazon.com/Book-Dating-Strategies-Every-Should/dp/0615241891). You can buy it from Amazon.com, along with The Resistance Manifesto and The Illuminati: Facts and Fiction, for the low, low price of $52.85!

URL snipped. This is the point where I mention that as a college student I worked for a mail order house that sent out copies of Eric Webber's instructional books on How to Pick Up Chicks, and let me tell you, there were three women who worked at our office who did nothing all day long but stuff mailers full of these books. I'd take 4-5 carts over to the post office every day; it was one of the last tasks.

That's what happens when you fall to deep into the "Rabbit Hole", sooner or later your best friends could become your enemies just because you got caught up in You tube. Lol

Most of them make similar phone calls or impromptu interviews. The modus operandi usually is as illustrated in the video: "invite" a dialogue with some important figure, yet couch or deliver your invitation in such a way that negates the possibility of it happening (i.e., by using insults, accusations of murder, etc) - sort of a cousin to the "have you stopped beating your wife" approach. Then, when the invitation is predictably refused, you can claim that you've been reasonable and have given the other party an opportunity to defend himself, yet were rebuffed. This also functions, in conspiracy theorists' minds, as evidence that the conspiracy is of course true.

Marc Dice does not work for the 9-11 Truth Movement. He works for the Marc Dice Movement.

I actually liked the part where he's bragging about having a pod cast. Arrogant twit. Like Oliver North or not, he can command a live audience of thousands and televised audience in the millions, is one of the most recognizable figures of the 80s and Dice tries to schmooze him onto a podcast?

Arrogance is Dice's schtick. He's a troll.

It's his job to make headlines, and annoy people.
And he's good at it, too! When you can make Alex Jones look like an improvement...that's saying a lot.

Any excuse to post this ... ;)

By the way, Dice is my favorite CTist. He's narcissistic, agressive, homophobic, delusional and paranoid. He's a wanna-be celebrity, a religious fanatic, and a conspiracy theorist all tied up with a crazy little bow.

But most of all, Dice is a hypocrite. My favorite Dice video (which was hard to choose, since they're all so deliciously stupid) was when he blasted Barnes & Noble for selling the Satanic Bible. Like many truthers, John/Mark is a champion of the First Ammendment!!! (Except for those things that should be censored)
