Not sure if this belongs here or in Social Issues, but since we seem to have some MDs who post here thought I would ask in this subforum.

Can anyone recommend a good website/blog about caring for elderly parents? I have googled but get a whole lot of damn all.

Thanks and sorry if this is inappropriate.

A couple good places are your local state department of health: in colorado, I was able to find lists of resources, as well as state ratings (complaints, etc) for the various assisted living facilities.

There is also a book in Denver called the "Blue Book" by 'those in the know' It is apparently published at www.SeniorsResourceGuide.com, (http://www.seniorsresourceguide.com/) but the web site publishes versions for more than one location. It is VERY helpful.

I just went through a couple years of trying to care for an elderly parent living independently (in a sort of retirement apartment complex) using as much process and technology as I could, until I began to undertake the search for assisted living. This search took me several months to review all the options and digest all the data, and I just finished the move to assisted living last week. So I'm happy to share any info that would be helpful.
