Colloidal silver blue man (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/22534645#22534645) interview on the Today Show.

Colloidal silver peddlers (http://www.google.com/search?q=colloidal+silver&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a) are very common.

It's irreversible. (http://www.quackwatch.com/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/PhonyAds/silverad.html)

Sorry, there's probably an older thread on this but I didn't have time to search for any. I had a long discussion on this on the BAUT forum years ago.

I had a student tell me today that her sister prescribes such treatments, and routinely drinks colloidal silver.

Her reasoning (if it could be called such) is that we used to drink water straight from mountain springs, which contained tiny gold and silver particles. But then people took the gold out, because it was valuable, so now our drinking water lacks these important minerals. So we need to replace them with her supplements.

And he still believes in it? (sorry, I'm at work and can't watch).

He's looking bluer than ever so I guess he still takes it.

There couldn't be a better spokesman for colloidal silver.
"Did a doctor tell you to use this?"
A: No
"Did it cure what you were taking if for?"
A: No
"Are you still taking it?"
A: Yes

Although whatever he says is almost beside the point. One look at him tells you all you need to know.
*shudder*

Well, not that I defend his position, but he did state that he no longer has reflux and arthritis (and maybe a few other problems, I don't recall.) So he feels that the benefits he believes he got outweigh the blue and potential problems later.

I would never do it, tho. Why should anyone? The doctor stated that with the advent of other treatments and antibiotics it is no longer necessary.
