Yesterday, everyones favorite antiestablishment couple, Ed and Elaine Brown, were found guilty on all weapons charges.
In addition they have been convicted of conspiracy to prevent their arrests, conspiracy to forcibly resist arrest, felons in possesion of firearms, obstruction of justice, failure to appear for sentencing and failure to appear at trial (Just Ed for the last one)

But..but...I was told the court trembles and pronounces you innocent whenever you tell them that you've found out the real definition of income tax and that you can't be taxed!
The wingnuts on ATS are already declaring that this is some sort of "example" of what happens when you protest the government:
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread480852/pg1
Actually, its just an example of what happens when you conspire to kill people. Small difference, you know. These two weren't exactly using peaceful protest methods. But hey, who needs details when we can elevate these two to saints among the CT nutjobs?

My guess is that they got nailed when they agreed to walk up to the front of the court room.

Indeed, the evil court probably tricked them into admiralty law!

Alex Libman reminds me of me back when I was in my "libertarian phase". Seems to be something a lot of teenagers go through.
Except one major difference...I never advocated anybody's murder.

Not so remote. Alex had Luke and Matt Lepacek drive up to the Browns' house sometime in June 2007, and Luke gave a live report on the show. There are photos of Luke with the Browns (http://a70.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/21/l_908f881241e0bb5f4919073cf287996d.jpg) in their house. In addition, We Are Change member Jason Gerhardt ended up staying with the Browns and was later sentenced to 20 years.

Unfortunately it worked out for Dice.

There are no words in the english language sufficient to describe Alex's level of arrogance and conviction of his own **** smelling like spring daisies and cinnamon. I would like to be the first to say good riddance.
His ban notice is puzzling though; what does "on instruction from the JREF" mean? I suppose I should ask FM.

I reported Alex to the JREF, so I might be at least partial responsible for his departure, but I have to agree: His incredible arrogance will not be missed.
He was a huge Ayn Rand fan. I have noted that Ayn Rand fans tend to behave toward others with the incredible arrogance that Rand' s heros have toward their "inferiors". And what is really sickening is that Rand and her fans find this behavior admirable.

Yes, he visited them during their standoff. Luck for him he didn't stay. There was a photograph of him with Ed and a few other of the followers. Today Luke is the only one not doing hard time in a federal prison.
As for the Browns, they will die in prison. So go ahead tax protestors, take your best shot!

It seems to mean "working together to delay or stop the police from arresting the two (three, four, etc) of you".

Good post from Quatloos! sums it up well:
At this time it might be appropriate to observe a moment of silence for all the patriots who stood by Ed and Elaine Brown during the trial -- the family and friends, you know.
Let's see, according to the report by Demosthenes, there was:

and of course

and who could forget _________, who was there every day of the trial.
Boy, these anti-government, anti-Mason, anti-Semitic blowhards are really there for you when you need 'em, aren't they?

No surprise, really. The evidence against them was clear, compelling and unambiguous, and they presented no legitimate defence. What little defence they did present was abysmal.

Did they actually try the "Freeman" defense?
You'd think the judge would read that as an insanity plea.
