Once upon a time John Lennon got in trouble for making a statement about religion. Which one do you think will go (end) first, religion (Christianity) or Rock and Roll?

"The catalyst for this change occurred on 4 March 1966, when Lennon was interviewed for the London Evening Standard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evening_Standard) by Maureen Cleave (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maureen_Cleave), and talked about Christianity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity) by saying: "Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I do not know what will go first, rock 'n' roll or Christianity...We're more popular than Jesus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus) now". (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lennon#cite_note-LennonIKnew-70)Five months later, an American teen magazine called Datebook reprinted part of the quote on its front cover.

RnR will go first. Tastes change, but there's no replacing superstition, lack of critical thinking, indoctrination, cultural normalization, tribal identification, etc. etc. etc.

It is my humble and geriatric opinion that rock and roll died many many years ago. What grew out of the rock-a-billy/skiffle/black experience which replaced the head hurting big band era died when fifteen minute electric guitar solos became the norm.

You call that music? I call it crap! And get off my front lawn damnit!!!

It's a trick question. Rock and roll IS a religion.
