"University of Waterloo 9/11 Research Group" gives Dr. Yuan T. Lee (Nobel in Chemistry) a copy of "Active Thermatic Materials Found" paper for his consideration.

I haven't confirmed Lee's credentials.

Does anyone have any contacts at the UW Chemistry department? Can we get a reaction from Lee?

UPDATE: Dr. Lee appears to be Taiwan-based. I know JREF tentacles reach far and deep. Maybe someone can get a quote from him.

um...how about submitting samples of the nano-thermite to the geniuses at Caltech, MIT, Cornell, or Princeton?

what are the truthers afraid of?

"University of Waterloo 9/11 Research Group" gives Dr. Yaun T. Lee (Nobel in Chemistry) a copy of "Active Thermatic Materials Found" paper for his consideration.
Hope they spelled thermite correctly or I am sure it gave Yaun a chuckle, otherwise I am sure Yaun yawned..

Twoofers present Univ. Waterloo Prof Dr. Y.T.Lee with the twoof"

Mr. Lee is not a UW professor. As far as I can tell, he got his B.S. in 1959 in Taiwan, his M.S. in 1961 in Taiwan, and his PhD in 1965 at Berkeley. He has an honourary degree from UW (and several other universities). He is indeed a Nobel prize recipient, having earned a chemistry prize with two others in 1986.

It appears that he was an assistant prof, then associate prof, then full prof at the University of Chicago in the late 60s-early 70s.

Then a prof at Berkeley from 1974-1991, prof emeritus in 1994, "graduate prof" 1994-1997, and a "principal investigator" at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory until 1997.

He is certainly well educated, and it appears that he has done some pretty significant work and research. It appears that he retired/semi-retired in the mid-late 1990s, and it appears that he then returned to Taiwan, where he was involved with and president of a Chinese research institute called Academia Sinica until 2006.

It will be interesting to see what, if anything, he has to say about the thermite nonsense.

This might be the most pathetic truther vid yet - short, boring, no audio of the actual conversation, filmed from across the room as if they're afraid to get too close to him, and then edited to have really ominous "oooooh, we're taking a risk" music.

Pathetic.

You used to have to be smart to get into Waterloo. Sigh.

Man, the twoofers are whoring the Jones paper for all its got. Although they have absolutely nothing...they think that because Jones got published in a pay for play journal that science is on their side and are handing it out to absolutely everyone.

You know, it might be fun to gather a compendium of all the engineering, political science, psychology, and sociology articles that have been written debunking the twoof movement and then every time they do this send the stack of debunking, actually peer reviewed, papers to the subjects they harass.

I noticed in the text he doesn't even quote the name of the paper correctly. It should have been capatalized and in quotation makes, IIRC. Is thata correct??

If they made such boneheaded mistakes in the text there, I wonder where else they goofed??? Most likely their names would be my guess.

"University of Waterloo 9/11 Research Group" gives Dr. Yuan T. Lee (Nobel in Chemistry) a copy of "Active Thermatic Materials Found" paper for his consideration.

And Dr. Lee pulls a Chretien and sets his drink on it.

(I hope he does, anyway.)

Here is what I predict.

IF (a big if) Dr. Lee actually reads their paper, he will basically say something like "interesting" to which the truthers will go fecking nuts claiming a Nobel Prize winner believes thermite was used to bring down the towers.
