I am trying to load a large database. The disks are ascii flat files set up with unique names so one can just do an xcopy /s one each dvd. More details here:

I was hoping some user of this TAQ3 data followed jref's finance forum but no luck to date. Any ideas?

How many hundreds are we talking about? Is spending a day swapping disks by hand totally out of the question?

Hello marting,
you may want to take a look here (http://www.powerfile.com/) (the C200, for example), or you may take a look here (http://store.niveusmedia.com/s.nl/it.I/id.18/.f?sc=2&category=25) (the ICE Vault 200, for example).
Check eBay if you can get them there used, to make things cheaper.
Greetings,
Chris
Edit: fount them on eBay. The Niveus is here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Niveus-Rainier-Media-Server-200-DVD-Changer-ICE-Vault_W0QQitemZ330340518820QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDesk top_PCs?hash=item4ce9d44ba4&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1234|293%3A1| 294%3A50) and the C200 Data Vault is here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Powerfile-C200-CD-DVD-RAM-disc-changer-jukebox_W0QQitemZ320394496534QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPC C_Drives_Storage_Internal?hash=item4a99000a16&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1234|293%3A1| 294%3A50).

Christian,
Thanks for the ideas and links. It led indirectly to some dvd stackers targeting MSDN users. I'll let you know what I wind up with.
Richard,
Yeah. Too many. Probably about 500 double sided digital dvds by now. Takes quite a while to copy just one. I expect it will take me a couple weeks to load them on a hard drive - even with an automated system.

So are the files done yet? :) Not sure how feasible it is in your environment, but I'd suggest doing a distributed approach if at all possible. As long as you can get the data all over to one storage area, you could have several machines copying over the data. Then you'd just need to run some jobs to load/synch up everything when you're done swapping a flipping discs for the day.
