So it's been a week since TAM officially ended. I am still trying to collect my thoughts.

It was amazing, indeed. There are several people in particular who made it a really good time. I am sure they know who they are, so I will not name names.

Everyone else who hung out, chatted, and made me feel welcome and accepted, thank you for putting up with me. It was great being with a group where I do not feel horribly out of place.

For people I did not meet, and I know there were some, next year come talk to me. I am very shy around people I don't know.

But I cannot wait until next year. Sigh.

It's okay, I don't mind if you name my name.

Rusty and Xenxabar and I shared a cab back to the airport. Sigh. Let's all go back to the South Point and just hang at the bar.

South Point was lovely. It was fun to go down to the bar at ANY time and know you would find friends happy to see you.

I refuse to be sick next year! I barely remember my experience.

Well, I remember you joining Jeff Wagg's parents and I for lunch Saturday, and that was a pleasurable memory for me, dear lady.

I'm having trouble remembering because I got home at 10PM Monday after TAM--and got on a flight at 6AM Tuesday to Hartford, CT and drove 60 miles to Stratford and was caught up in meetings from the time I arrived until 11am Friday (workday was 0800-1830 and then 3 hours of Minute and Action Item preparation).

Not to mention I had to give the foreign customer several pieces of bad news, which they reacted badly too (The US Ambassador there is calling various and sundry Generals, and by the end of the week a certain 4-Star may be involved..these laddies don't play soft...). So I was getting beat on by both customer and bosses...

Still, when it is all too much, I'll remember the Del Mar, and the Tuesday dinner crowd (great choice Hokulele, we'll have to do that again next year), and the bowling, and not being knocked out of the Poker tournament 1st (I think I was 4th or 5th). And the people..the absolute dignity of Nobby (I picked him up at the airport, but the rest of you absconded with him shortly thereafter and I barely saw him), the overwhelming glee of Chicken Pot Pie, Toby being....Toby, the Lancaster clan, taking Starthinker with me to Hoover Dam and the Pot Pies to Red Rocks, all the Skepchicks, introducing people because I know so many Forum folks from TAM and Cruises...

Guess I do have a couple of good memories after all....

Not to mention the memory of the pleasure you gave to all the people you helped attend, my friend. Not to mention that.

Ah. I imagined that it would take at least a week to get over the withdrawal symptoms. I'm surprised it didn't take a month! Hey, taking any trips to Edmonton any time soon?

I second RP's comments. For those who cannot wait until next year's TAM, isn't there always the chance for a local Skepticamp (http://skepticamp.org/wiki/Organizing_a_SkeptiCamp_Event) get together?

**Longs for the comfort of the TAM equivalent of Cheers, the Del Mar lounge...**

I am thinking about that but more so, I'm wishing this planet had a much smaller radius than it's what? 6300km?

You guys are too far away and I miss the whole *********** lot of you.

Oh, I don't know if I am fully over TAM get, but I am at least able to think about it coherently. I am still pining for the Del Mar.

But why Edmonton? No need to drive all that way when you are in Red Deer... :o

Hey, I have friends in the Edmonton area too. I'm sure we can arrange or latch onto a skeptic meet up there!

As it turns out, being really busy is the best way to get over the withdrawal. Except, the withdrawal gets replaced with wishing it was next year already ...

Okay, you might be able to convince me to head up to Edmonton for a get together. If I must...

I'd like to get up that way myself some day. I've only been to Canada twice - once for a volleyball tournament in Toronto back around 89, and once to Victoria Island. Both were pretty much just weekend trips, so I didn't get to see much or eat any back bacon or say good day eh?
