Folks,

In Windows XP/Vista/etc., the clock in the taskbar is displayed as follows:

1 line: time
2 lines: time, weekday
3 lines: time, weekday, date

Does anyone know if there is a way to change that order? What I want is a 2-line taskbar with time and date.

I know there are various mini-apps that can do this.

Misread. I thought you meant the Vista sidebar clock, which most folk seem to delete after a couple of days.

There's this:- http://www.alfasoftweb.com/alfaclock/

Or this-
http://www.drive-software.com/windowsclock.html

Which is free .

Interestingly, I have tried both those apps. Alfaclock wouldn't run at all. Clock Tray Skins would be great if the date was large enough to read from more than two inches away.

Since I now have a 30" monitor, I guess I'll just leave my taskbar at three lines and see everything.

Nice one. I just installed it on a Vista machine. Very dandy.
