If you could choose one of the USA armed forces to go into, which would it be?
Also, what are some of the Best aspects of that particular branch of the armed forces, and what are some of the Worst aspects?

Only one choice:
Where can you find pleasure, search the world for treasure,
learn science, technology?
Where can you begin to make your dreams all come true
on the land or on the sea?
Where can you learn to fly, play in sports or skindive,
study oceanography?
Sign up for the big band or sit in the grand stand
when your team and others meet.
In the Navy, yes, you can sail the seven seas.
In the Navy, yes, you can put your mind at ease.
In the Navy, come on now people, make a stand.
In the Navy, can't you see we need a hand.
In the Navy, come on, protect the motherland.
In the Navy, come on and join your fellow, man.
In the Navy, come on, people, and make a stand.
In the Navy, in the Navy.

Did my time in the Navy. If I could do it over, I would have joined the Marines.

Oh, the Air Force of course. More high tech stuff. More opportunity in the civilian world. Don't have to see all those mangled corpses on the other end of your bombs.
Technically, the Marines are a branch of the Navy.

Falls under the Department of the Navy, not a branch of them. And the air force are pansies for not facing the destruction they may cause. If you can't face the consequences...............

If you want to piss off a Marine in a hurry, say that to his face. :D
I served 20 years in the Navy. They have the best technical training. The long periods at sea sucked big time.
If you like to stay on land and don't want to have to be in the best physical shape, but live in the best quarters, but not move up in rank very fast, I would recommend the Air Force.

I highly recommend the Air Force. I did a four year hitch back in the late 60's rather than be drafted. Best move I could have made. As a radio operator it was just like having a regular job. Time is your own when not working. The only people that get near the fighting are the pilots.

My family has a long history of Army service, and would easily choose the Army again as my armed force of choice.

There's a laser-guided bomb heading your way with 'Merry Christmas from Bidlack' painted on the fin! ;)
I voted Navy myself, though obviously if I was to serve, it would be the Royal not US Navy.

You forgot to list the Coast Guard. But then everybody else forgets about them, too. ;)

Air Force would be my first choice, then Navy, then Army. Marines are great but the lobotomy and life long attitude do put me off.
I chose Army because they saw fit to give me a comission.

I've done (doing) 11+ years in the US Navy. I've thought about what other service I might choose (should I choose anew). Coast Guard sounds good, I mean you get ships and all, but there ain't a whole lot of travel. Air Force also sounds good, 9-5 and no long deployments but advancement suck (food's good though). So I have to say that if I were able to start over knowing what I know know I'd probably have just gone to college.
Army and Marines are straight out. Mud, dirt, bugs, heavy lifting, people shooting at you - NO AIR CONDITIONING. Forget it.

Marines. if you are going to do it, do it. That's my attitude. I don't want think it counts if you are in the Air Force (pilots excluded) during WW3. You're pretty much as safe as any other civilian.
I have my education. I have my job skills already. If I had to/wanted to join a fighting force, it would be to fight.
Plus, Marines and army move up in rank the fastest, have more chances at medals, awards, and recognition, and in the case of the Marines, the best uniform.
I make fun of my Navy buddy almost daily for his uniform.

When is your current enlistment up? How many years will that give you in the Navy?
I retired after 20 years. Trust me, it ain't worth going for the retirement. I haven't met a retiree yet who said it was worth it.
Maybe when I'm 65 and on Social Security and my 401(k) has sunk...
Start your 401(k) now. I wish I had started it way before I retired.
