The Jewish people started out as the ethnic Hebrew tribes. They became the Kingdoms of Judah and Israel..and then the Roman province of Judaea. Like most other nations of the time, they had their own God, religious practises, whatnot.

Though today....few if any nations still have their own Gods. The Jews, Indians, and various tribes in Africa seem to be the last ones.

But yet, a person born of Jewish mother who is purely secular, or even atheist, is still considered a Jew by the Jewish people and by much of Gentile society. The guy could worship the devil...but he would still be considered a Jew.

Though..if he becomes a Christian..the Jews consider this man or woman to no longer be a Jew. Being an atheist or worshipping the devil does not cut him off from his people...but worshipping Jesus does. How odd.

Honestly, I think it is downright illogical to associate an atheistic or even devil-worshipping Jew...with the Jewish people and faith. And I find it even more illogical that a Jesus-worshipping Jew is NOT considered a Jew. It makes absolutely no sense.

I propose, that we use different terms for Jews who are only "Jewish" from a cultural and heritage point of view...but have abandoned or do not practise or do not believe in any of the traditional Jewish religious beliefs or customs or traditions.

These "Jews", should be called Hebrews....and NOT Jews. Mind you, the Jews were called Hebrews maybe 1,500 years before they followed any of the Jewish religious beliefs. So this makes sense.

People, who are born of a Jewish mother or converted..and follow, believe in, and practise some or all of the Jewish religious beliefs, will be called Jews.

Folks who were born of a Jewish mother..who are totally secular and do not believe in or practise any Jewish religious customs..will be called Hebrews.

So let it be written...so let it be done.

So if a black skinned person doesn't embrace the hip-hop gangsta culture of being black, does that mean that black skinned person is not truly black?

I find that kind of thing extremely prejudiced and possibly even racist.
