Well a couple of weeks ago we had a sailor torch himself in his car or at least that was the initial report.
Back then I thought this has 3 probable causes, all bad but some worse than others (from "best" to worst).
1. Drunk/stoned, lit a cigarette, fell asleep and FOOM! What I had really expected the verdict to be.
2. Suicide - I really didn't give this one much credence since most sailors who kill themselves are depressed and death by fire is pretty rare in these cases.
3. Someone set him on fire.
The most recent info going around now is that there were two bodies pulled from the car. It wasn't their car.
To make it worse these two were supposedly a couple of guys who ratted on a smuggling ring operating off their boat. So it looks like option 3, the worst of them all by far.
Of course I have to say that all this info is getting to me third hand and I really don't know how much credence to give anything past someone got burned up.
