While reading the technology section of the News.com.au website I spotted an item about how President Obama's emergency escape plans had been leaked onto the internet via limewire.

See: "Obama's emergency escape plan leaked online", News.com.au, 30/06/09 (http://www.news.com.au/technology/story/0,28348,25857094-5014239,00.html)

And of course as with any online news site there is now a section for people to add their comments, in this case the conspiracy theories started with the fourth such comment.

Here it comes - the underlying reality that P2P will soon be banned and these documents were probably leaked for that purpose. Call it a conspiracy or whatever you want. They keep the secrets not the other way round

And a later comment brings up an old 'friend'

"The Obama Deception". Great film, explains the reality of the situation, free for all, like everything should be.

It will be interesting to watch how (and if) this spreads to some of the more well known conspiracy sites.

Well there's the ACTA treaty which would ban P2P.

I oppose the ACTA Treaty because of it's secrecy and the fact that it could have serious affects on americans. It's basically fait accompli

P2P =/= Theft, which is what the ACTA is actually looking to clamp down on.

And what? Detection of p2p connections is not easy.(Ask ISPs) And encryption is in alland some are done for truly anonymous sharing.(it is slow, but untraceable-Freenet and MUTE)

And it would take some more to get p2p banned.(ineffectively)
