Any hint yet that 9-11 truthers and Obama birthers will join forces to form a giant mass of conspiracy paranoia stupidity?

I so hope such an event takes place..even on a small scale.

The only problem is..it would give truthers more members and a louder voice.

But, it would solidify the Birthers association with paranoid conspiracy nuts...and my extension..the Republican Party.

:D

I can tell you from arguing with many birthers that they detest 9-11 truthers...even though they're being led around by truthers like Alex Jones and Philip Berg. When reminded of this, most angrily deny their ties or curse or dissociate themselves with Truthers.

There is some overlap, but it's minimal. I wouldn't count on this marriage of stupidity taking place on a significant scale.

Too soon to tell, really. It depends on how disillusioned some of the wacko Left gets with Obama. For the present, Birtherism is pretty much confined to the wacko Right.
But for it's first year or so, Trutherism was pretty confined to the Wacko Left, and then spread to the Wacko Right when they became disillusioned with the Bush Adminsitration.

It's been my observation that the majority of truthers (not all but most) are of the left winged mindset. It's a form of Bush Derangement Syndrome. "Bush did it and I won't hear differently LALALALALALALA!". The right wingers who are truthers are the type who don't trust government no matter who's in charge.

Now that Bush is gone and a Democrat is in office most of the left wingers are starting to shut up because it now makes their guy look bad that he hasn't released evidence supporting their claims and he's not going to start a "New" investigation. All that's left are the hardcore kooks.

Wasn't the Birther movement started by a 9/11 denier?

Dingdingding!

Phil Berg, a Hillary-supporting 9-11 nutbar was an early Obama Birther, well before any Republicans were even looking into Obama.

I have no doubt that there will be or already has been some sort of marriage between the Truthers and the Birthers, but only on the wacko Alex Jones survivalist fringe. I agree with Good Lt., though, any suggestion of a real alliance with the Truthers will just piss off the Birthers.

ETA: I met Berg at the 9-11 Accountability Conference in Chandler. His main significance there was that when the Truthers started a ruckus to expel Stephen Lemons (the only major media present), Berg personally intervened and got Stephen back into the room.

I fully agree.

The people who are twoofers AND birfers are the "eeevil gubmint did 9/11" types. Most of them are right wing, but there are a small percentage who think Obama isn't liberal enough, even though he's a democrat.

He's a Democrat? From all of the recent publicity, I got the impression he was a Socialist.

Just came across this article.

In short, I'm less concerned with the mechanics of 9/11 itself, and more concerned with the way that the 9/11 Truth movement is turning anti-Bush liberals into rabid right-wingers.

Interesting. Looks like a good candidate for the 9/11 editorial sticky thread.
