We didn't evolve with subwoofers and the great songs of ABBA, nor House/rave techno music and teenie girls stuffing glow-sticks in their nostriles.

Is there any evidence of DNA or cellular damage due to heavy bass music? I figure if high-frequency sonication is used to rupture cells (if I understand correctly), then the extreme other end of things may be just as bad in some other way.

(I'm not concerned with the question of hearing loss, as loud noise is a well-established risk factor.)

I remember reading something awhile ago about future military weapons development that mentioned low frequency sound. Then again, maybe I'm thinking of some sci-fi I read.
