What does he think he is? He shot a woman in the mouth and killed her.

Life is so hard, isn't it.

I suppose we could give him the option of voluntary death sentence. Would that satisfy his complaint?

I don't want to be in prison with scumbags either. That's why I try to not murder people.

Same here. It's a great way to stay out of prison, isn't it? I believe I'll just go right on not killing people ...and not being sold and resold for cigarettes.

It must suck going from being Phil Spector to being a Ronette. :p

Hey ,Phil, as a wise man once said:

"You can't do the time, don't do the crime".

This carries the "I am a Hollywood Celeb, The Rules Don't Apply" to new heights.

Phil doesn't want to be in prison with Scumbags, because he never likes to feel at home.

I had the experience of arresting an Asian researcher here at the university for spouse abuse. When we arrived at the booking desk, a number of young men were sitting there waiting for their turn to be processed.
My prisoner said, "Must I sit with them? I am not like other prisoner!" I had to inform him that today...He was.

"Hey, you're Phil Spector, right? Strip 'em and let's see what you can produce for me."

I think I want to mail him ten pages of the laughing dog just for that.

Here's an idea:

Don't want to go to jail, don't wave guns at women. Even if you don't intend on pulling the trigger.

He didn't produce those songs...by the way;)

Imagine Phill on a long and winding road, reminding himself that all things must pass. Meanwhile we wonder how he can sleep. Soon he will be behind that locked door, with folks who would have him any time, crying wah wah. Isn't it a pity? Isn't a shame? No.

I expect his fellow scumbags will react positively to his whining when they're informed.
Anyone got the prison e-mail address?:)

While us normal people would consider murderers scumbags, to rich people the only scumbags are poor people. We just can't possibly make poor Mr. Moneybags hang out with the riff-raff!

Oh, look a generalization.

Can you back this statement up with some evidence?

How much money must one make to fall victim to this strange attitude you are describing here?

We at the JREF demand evidence and research!

But in certain desperate cases we can be appeased with nice Che Guevara T-shirt. :)

What boggles my mind, is that someone married him at about the time his trial started. And held the wedding at the scene of the murder.

I understand marrying Spector then better than marrying him without the prospect of life in prison hanging over his head. Rich husband on his way to jail for the rest of his life... what better gold-digging opportunity is there?

Especially when you're drunk like he was.

Most rich people hold human and even animal life in high regard. Please refrain from blanket statements like this. He murdered that lady despite the fact that he is rich not because of it.

Yeah. Based on my limited exposure to rich people, the main difference between them and us is the amount of money they have. The main differences between Spector and most of us is the fact that he's a) a talented music producer and b) bat:rule10 crazy.

Murderers pull better and more ass have better success than nerds do. Even while in prision.

Scumbags? You mean like people who murder other people, people who abuse their spouses and partners and people who allegedly abuse their children, Phil?! :p And people who keep weapons in their home and harass and intimidate others with them?

I'll give him one thing. Unlike all the rapists, arsonists-for-profit, burglars, dealers, pimps and murderers he must meet nowadays, he isn't violent and criminal so much as he is nuts.

He isn't a scumbag the way they are scumbags; he did evil because he was very disturbed. They aren't "disturbed"- they are usually thugs acting out of violence, ignorance, selfishness and greed. If they are "crazy", it's the kind of crazy backed up by being 6 foot 2 and 300 pounds.

Odd fact. I have a friend who has some minor connections in music and she said that she knew a lot of people who had past dealings with Phil Spector. I asked what they said of him and she said that they all said that he threw unbelievably wild parties with mountains of cocaine, that he was insane or at least very strange and that he had a million weapons lying around. I was disappointed, since everyone in the public already knew all of this- and you know you lead a very strange life if such news is a disappointment to hear!

Roman Polanski once said the same thing about being in prison for child molestation. "You can't imagine what it is like to be in prison with real criminals! Murderers and rapists!"

Yeah, he wouldn't have stood a chance in there, either.

I realize that, IIRC it was George Martin, but I wanted to go for the joke anyway.

Wait a sec, Specter's the joke here, I need not have bothered.

And what has Phil Spector learned from putting guns inside the mouths of women?
Guns don't kill people, bullets do.

Depends if you can afford a decent lawyer and avoid being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or being guiltly of being slightly odd when the police need a result.
