I wasn't sure whether to post this here, because the guy who wrote it must be perfectly well aware that he's lying. So it isn't so much a "conspiracy theory" as "a big heap of crap".
On the other hand, this guy has successfully deceived other people; so while he is merely a liar, they are conspiracy theorists
So, here goes ... The First Time I Heard of Barack Obama (http://www.rense.com/general84/brck.htm).
A brief excerpt. Remember that what follows is alleged to have taken place in 1992.
"What if I told you that you will have a black president very soon and he will be a Communist?"
The out-of-the-blue remark was met by our stares. She continued, "Well, you will; and he will be a Communist."
It was then that the husband unsuccessfully tried to change the subject; but she was on a roll and would have nothing of it. One of us asked, "It sounds like you know something we don't know."
"Yes, it is true. This is not some idle talk. He is already born and he is educated and being groomed to be president right now. You will be impressed to know that he has gone to the best schools of Presidents. He is what you call "Ivy League". You don't believe me, but he is real and I even know his name. His name is Barack. His mother is white and American and his father is black from Africa. That's right, a chocolate baby! And he's going to be your President."
If you ever wondered who makes this stuff up, now we know. It's some guy called Tom Fife. If that is his real name.

Obama wants the govt. to seize all major industries permanently? I haven't read this one yet. Maybe in The Onion.

It's too bad that Fife didn't consider it highly enough it to write about it back in 1992 instead of last November. It would have become a sensational story.

Oh, there are even russian authors who claim that the soviet union deliberately collapsed while actively planning to undermine capitalism and have a great comeback with world socialism. I'm sure i have an eBook somewhere... funny stuff.
edit: Anatoliy Golitsyn - The Perestroika Deception
Anatoliy Golitsyn's first book, 'New Lies for Old', caused a long-running sensation when it
was discovered that, unlike most Western analysts, the Author had accurately predicted,
some years ahead of the events, the 'Break with the Past' which took place in Eastern
Europe and the Soviet Union in 1989-91. In his book 'Wedge: The Secret War between the
FBI and CIA' [Alfred A Knopf, New York, 1994], Mark Riebling, who carried out a
methodical analysis of Golitsyn's predictions in 'New Lies for Old', credited the Author with
'an accuracy record of nearly 94%'. This singular achievement puts all other analysts,
including some official services, to shame; and it is precisely because of his record of pin-
point accuracy that Western Governments, policymakers and even some intelligence
services, whose record bears little comparison with Golitsyn's, have competed with one
another over the years to find reasons why Golitsyn's perceptive explanations of Soviet
strategy should be ignored. But events as they unfold are relentlessly proving this
remarkable analyst of Soviet strategy to be right. 'The Perestroika Deception' explains the
devious secret intent behind the Leninist strategy which the 'former' Communists are pur-
suing under cover of fake 'reform' and 'progress towards democracy'. The immediate
strategic objective is 'convergence' with the West - on their terms, not ours. The ultimate
objective is Lenin's: replacement of nation states with collective regional governments as
building blocks of the 'New World Social Order' - World [Communist] Government.

Obama refuses to cut insurance companies out of healthcare reform. And even after bailing out the majority of American banking systems, the President still rejected any long-term government control of these businesses. Calling this guy a socialist is an insult to genuine socialists everywhere.
And COMMUNIST? Really? The USSR is long gone, and China is an inch away from becoming the capitalist super-power of the world. "Communist" is one of those terms, like "negro", that is simply archaic in 2009.
In Europe, Obama would be considered a moderate conservative.

I think Fife's head would explode if he met a real Communist. Seriously, what is the deal with people labeling anyone who isn't some radical anarcho-capitalist a Communist/Socialist? It's just insulting.

To be fair, a lot of people call people they don't agree with Nazis or Fascists.

To be fair, a lot of people call people they don't agree with Nazis or Fascists. Yeees ... but, to be fair, those people don't allege that the election of their political opponents to office was planned back in 1939 by Adolf Hitler.
When people claim that Obama is a Communist, that's just rhetoric. When they claim that his election as President was planned back in 1992 by the Soviets, I have to think that they're losing it.

Yeah, because we all know that the Soviets couldn't even get their five year plans to work, let alone a sixteen year plan in a whole other country.

Yep the best way to get others to adopt your political system is to abandon it yourself while sending in a stealth leader to turn them to it....kinda like the Spartans becoming pacificists and getting a laconic stealth Spartan to overcome the Athenians......

Last time I was visitied London, and went to the unintentional laugh riot that is Sunday Afternoon at Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park, there were a couple of unreconstructed Soviet Style Communists there, who were world champions of ignoring obvious questions.

My take on this is that it is more hyperbole and exageration than out and out BS. Yes, Obama had a quick rise through the ranks of the Democratic party, mostly due to being groomed by party officials for possible runs for higher office.
The thought that political parties don't look for promising young talent to groom for higher office is naive. (yeah, the Reps do this too, as does every political party in any country, democratic or otherwise)
According to his bio in wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barak_Obama)
From April to October 1992, Obama directed Illinois's Project Vote, a voter registration drive with a staff of ten and 700 volunteers; it achieved its goal of registering 150,000 of 400,000 unregistered African Americans in the state, and led to Crain's Chicago Business naming Obama to its 1993 list of "40 under Forty" powers to be.[40][41]
so, yeah, as early as 1992 he seems to have been noticed by party leaders as somebody who could be the future of the Democratic Party. That being said, I highly doubt that he was the only person being groomed in such a way. He was just one of the successes.
As to the Communist thing. Reps have been labing liberal Dems as Communist or Socialist for a while now, so not very surprising. It still does not make the label true.
So for me, this 'news' is on par with being told that 'the sky is blue', or 'water is wet'

Agreed;the only place the Soviets won the Cold War was in "Command and Conquer:Red Alert" .
(At least I did when I commanded the Soviets)....
